It was Home Run Derby in Orlando today, with the Bearcats and Knights combining for nine. UC fell behind in the 3rd inning, 9-5, when UCF hit three bombs, including a grand slam. But the Cats kept battling with long balls of their own.
Tied at 9 in the 9th, Derrick Pitts put UC up with a shot the other way. It had been chippy for a good portion of the game, and Pitts added to the chippiness. As he headed down the 1st base line, he flipped his bat towards the UCF dugout, apparently trash talking as he went. He crossed the plate and was ejected. Jack Natili then added another homer, his third straight over the last few innings. His second one was such a bomb that the UCF third baseman just dropped his head and didn't bother to turn around to watch.
Adam Buczkowski struck out the side, and the Cats came away with an 11-9 victory.
UC are 27-15 (8-10 in B12 play). After heading up I-75 to meet Wright State on Tuesday, the Mountaineers come to town for their three-game series this coming weekend.

Agreed. Production and broadcast team was actually very good. I'm not a big fan of Billy Hatcher up in the booth for the home games.Originally posted by bearcatjd View PostGreat comeback win today. The coverage on ESPN+ was really good. Looking forward to the weekend series against WVA.
