Bad weekend at Black Rock for the Bearcats. Okie State swept the 3-game series, battering UC pitching in each game: 9-12, 3-11, 4-10.

That's 5 losses in the past 6 games. Next up, the Miami SkinHawks at Prasco Park, Wednesday, 5:00. The Baylor Bears will be in town this coming weekend.

Quinton Coats (who else?) slammed a 2-run HR in the bottom of the 8th to generate a Mercy Rule 11-1 win over Baylor. Nathan Taylor went 7 innings for the win. He's now 4-1.

The Bearcats are 23-13, 5-8 in B12 play. The Cats and Bears will go at it again tomorrow at home at 3:00.

"The Bearcats' bid for their first Big 12 sweep of the season fell just short following a five-run ninth inning, as Baylor took the series finale, 8-3, on Sunday."

It was the eighth largest attendance in school history. No doubt there were some x fans there to witness the blowout.

The Bearcats' trip to Orlando started out poorly, with UCF jumping up, 4-0, in the 4th. The Knights finished it off, 7-1. Game 2 tomorrow.

The good guys evened the series by downing UC of Florida 9-3. It was a looooooong game with 8 different Knight pitchers who walked 10 and hit 4 batters.

The rubber game is today at Noon.

It was Home Run Derby in Orlando today, with the Bearcats and Knights combining for nine. UC fell behind in the 3rd inning, 9-5, when UCF hit three bombs, including a grand slam. But the Cats kept battling with long balls of their own.

Tied at 9 in the 9th, Derrick Pitts put UC up with a shot the other way. It had been chippy for a good portion of the game, and Pitts added to the chippiness. As he headed down the 1st base line, he flipped his bat towards the UCF dugout, apparently trash talking as he went. He crossed the plate and was ejected. Jack Natili then added another homer, his third straight over the last few innings. His second one was such a bomb that the UCF third baseman just dropped his head and didn't bother to turn around to watch.

Adam Buczkowski struck out the side, and the Cats came away with an 11-9 victory.

UC are 27-15 (8-10 in B12 play). After heading up I-75 to meet Wright State on Tuesday, the Mountaineers come to town for their three-game series this coming weekend.

Agreed. Production and broadcast team was actually very good. I'm not a big fan of Billy Hatcher up in the booth for the home games.
