The chances of Philly hiring any college coach are very slim given their prior experience with Chip Kelly. If you're a college coach with Nfl aspirations, the Philly and NY jobs are probably the two areas you do not want to venture into at any price. It would not be worth the years of your life it would take dealing with the fans and press. It's not an accident Urban Meyer landed in Jacksonville.

Are there any other sources than the Brannen team to substantiate that Luke is not on speaking terms with Cunningham? I take these rumors with a grain of salt if Mars and Co are the only source.Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

Really "uncool" of Brannen's lawyer to release to the public that private conversation CLF had with Brannen, calling Brannen's mess "BS". The lawyer had no right to release a private conversation.

It's a very odd move for an attorney unless they were looking hard at some sort of settlement. Unless this went/goes to court, i'm not sure UC is ever going to release specifics of his termination for obvious reasons. Cunningham is getting a lot of heat, but this was not his call on his own. BC, I don't believe the leaked text message is real. I think it was fabricated by an Eggsavier fan from a computer in his room in grandma's basement. I think CLF would have had a personal phone call with Brannen, to console him, instead of sending an impersonal text.
P.S. CLF is too savvy to send a text like this, since you no longer have control over who sees it, once its sent.
P.S.S. If things were bad enough to terminate for cause, I think Cunningham should be fired for lack of institutional control over one of the 2 main athletic programs.Comment

Luke Fickell, Cincinnati head coach
He’s 31-6 the last three years at Cincinnati, and this season will include marquee games at Indiana and Notre Dame. Fickell has never lived outside the state of Ohio and has a huge name in that Midwest footprint, where he’s been a dogged recruiter. Can he build the Bearcats to be strong enough that they can jump the moat? He’s not anxious to leave, as his most ideal fits come at a handful of elite Midwest jobs.
