He missed a few easy throws to the backs coming out of the backfield. I don't see him beating out Browning for the backup whatsoever. Practice squad pays well and with injuries, he may get a chance, but he needs to pick it up. He has a degree from a good university and is liked in Cincy for a good future.

    • He was not good on Saturday, may not find even a practice squad place.

      • Bengals cutting Des, per reports

        • Was not picked up for bengals practice squad. He has his degree and is well known in Cincy as I said before. If he uses that, he has a good future.

          • With the injury to Burrow, he seems like a likely pick up, but there has been no speculation from what I have seen.

He is not even on their practice squad. Why would they pick him?

he was familiar with the offense and he would come without a trade. It is the Bengals we are talking about.

A reporter in WI said that the Bengals contacted the Packers about the availability of Malik Willis.

The Bengals rank 7th in payroll over the past decade, contrary to perception.

It's more about spending wisely than how much.

Why trade for someone not as good as what they already have?

                        • They need to get Desmond back and a couple more probably. With this O line it's just a matter of time before Browning and Rypien join Joe in ICU.

                            • From Bengals wire concerning bringing free agents

This could end up being something as simple as bringing back Desmond Ridder, as the team doesn’t have any plans to do anything other than start Jake Browning.

That said, notable free agents include Taylor Heinicke, Mike White and a handful of others. They could also consider trading for someone like Jameis Winston of the New York Giants, but again, that would require them wanting to actually push Browning in a competition in the middle of a season.

all is speculation and until we see someone -- who knows

                              • It appears Desmond will remain unemployed - Bengals are bringing in Sean Clifford and Mike White.
