There hasn't been any proof that he was betting on UC games. I hope that he was not. However, when he was a non-starter at IU, he did bet on IU games. Does anyone remember tosu's Art Schlichter? His gambling was the total end of his career.

It was just a couple of years ago that a UC BB player's father was arrested for gambling with "inside" knowledge (but not on a UC game). He was trying to place a bet down at the Reds' gambling facility. The bet was on a mid-week game that was so outrageous that it drew attention of the gambling company, the company's security, and eventually law enforcement. All this to say, two UC assistant baseball coaches were fired because they had "knowledge" of the father's betting.
So, I would think some seats in the UC Athletics department ought to be heating up over this.

The same article was on the Enquirer's website today. Still suspicious of the timing of all of this, especially in light of the MTD filed yesterday on behalf of Sorsby.Originally posted by longtimefan View PostAnd there it is. UC knew.

Is it true that UC was informed? I don’t know but the timing makes me doubt it. Sorsby was caught, enters rehab, files a MTD all on the same day. Then UC suddenly knows about his gambling? Coincidence or misdirection?Originally posted by longtimefan View Post
Whatever, this looks bad. It’s unclear who notified UC, was it the league?

Golly, sarge. I mean if it’s written then it must be true. 🙄Originally posted by longtimefan View Post

Yes, I read that. I’m not sure if what is written is actually true considering the circumstances.

Exactly my point. This seems too coincidental to take at face value.Originally posted by bearcatbret View PostMy wife does not follow sports but every now and again sees headlines. She thinks that even if UC is innocent, Sorsby will try to throw them under the bus to save his own career.

Thing is, he bet on Indiana when he played at Indiana. That alone may be enough to end his career.Originally posted by bearcatbret View PostMy wife does not follow sports but every now and again sees headlines.
