It didn't become an addiction until he got caught. I like to lay on the couch all day. My wife tells me to get up and cut the grass but it's not my fault. I'm addicted to laying on the couch. If anything,we should hold the furniture manufacturer liable for making the couch too comfortable.

Addiction is a disease, it ruined so many careers. In my life I have been to a race track exactly 4 times, 3 at old River Downs and once at Latonia. All four times I saw Pete Rose there, that guy had to have gambling action constantly. He knew the rules of MLB, but simply could not stop. In his case, like Sorsby, had he sought help before he was caught it would have been better for him. Alcoholism is a disease, but driving drunk is a crime. The same thing here, I feel sorry for Sorsby, but he deserves whatever consequences arise from this. If UC was indeed notified, that is a real problem.

It is debatable, but it was accepted by the AMA to get the insurance money. Plus there is no personal accountability when it isn't you, but your disease. The public wants their ears tickled as our society refuses culpability for our actions and choices.

Go to the local AA website, and just look at how many meetings are held in Cincinnati in a week. GA is similar. Addiction is a disease that people can never overcome on their own. People need help and support, and no matter how successful at rehab, the disease of addiction can be managed, but never cured.
So now somebody at UC is denying that UC knew, while USA Today and NYTimes have sources claiming they did. These things always mushroom. I’ll be surprised if CSS survives this, maybe even John Cunningham could be gone. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/spo...i/89838764007/

It makes you wonder if BS was a stand alone or part of a small aspect of the culture. I have wondered about a few games in FB and in other sports. There is big money in sports betting since betting has gone on-line and about everywhere.
