Seems like Rob Cassidy no longer has picked UC for Collier - Futurecast page says Cassidy's forecast of IC to UC is now "unlikely" --- not even sure what that means haha

    Cassidy also wrote this: "

Everyone loves a mystery, and Collier’s recruitment qualifies as one as things stand. USC seems to be trending in the right direction and the smoke surrounding the Trojans is thick. Still, at least one person close to Collier insists Cincy is the team to beat. Then, there’s the Michigan situation. Everyone seems to agree the Wolverines are running in third here, but Juwan Howard and company certainly aren't behaving as such and they remain confident they are as much of an option as anyone else. USC seems to have the most buzz as things stand today, but Collier’s recruitment is a bit of a mystery and seems to change with the wind." https://basketballrecruiting.rivals....e-recruitments

Once a cycle or so a recruitment comes along that keeps everyone guessing until the final days, and the case of Isaiah Collier definitely fills that role for this class. As we sit just a little more than a month away from the five-star guard’s November commitment timetable, things seem to get murkier by the day.

In the interest of transparency, I’ll point out that my FutureCast remains in favor of Cincinnati only because Rivals’ system won’t allow me to withdraw it without replacing it with a prediction for another school. The truth is, I have no idea what’s going on here anymore. People that would know seem divided. A few weeks back, some close to Collier felt Cincy had separated itself. These days, that line of thinking has faded. Some sources have decided to speak in riddles. Others insist Collier’s family is planning a move to L.A. to be able to watch him at USC, which depending on who you ask, is once again trending as the frontrunner. Michigan remains strangely confident, even if almost everyone else seems to think the Wolverines are all but eliminated.

Alas, whispers and uncertainty are what make recruiting interesting, and this one checks those boxes. I don’t know which way the wind is going to blow here, so I’ll just repeat what I was told by one involved coach this week: “Everyone always seems confident, but there’s a lot of time between now and November.”

What does that mean exactly? **** if I know, but it’s provocative. I wish I could change my FutureCast to an exaggerated shoulder shrug.

(^^^ Nice - "h-e-l-l" was bleeped out above haha)

”I can’t remember being so confused by a recruitment to be fair. There’s a lot of conflicting info out there. I switched back to cincy after having a other convo. That’s subject to change, though. My head is spinning”

I read somewhere that Isaiah is projected as the number two NBA draft pick as it stands right now. So with that in the mix I would doubt the NIL would even come into play. He's had at least six options available to him for quite awhile, and because he has not committed yet, and has no immediate plans to do so, to me he is "quietly rejecting". Having certain suitors eliminate themselves by losing interest and/ or pursuing others. I'm glad CWM is pursuing both of these ball players and hope that we get both. I'm just curious as to why the delay if it's already definitive that he's only going to be at college one year.

James is not being recruited as a back up plan. We want both of them. Everyone's expectation is that if we get Collier, he's gone after a year. James has stated himself that what Collier does will not influence his decision.

As far as the On3 article goes. Jamie Shaw wrote it and he had USC at 85% confidence 2 days ago in his forecast. He's now down to to 60% in the article. Jamie is a national name in recruiting but he's an east coast guy for what it's worth.

Collier's an NBA level PG without the option to jump directly to the league. He does seem focused on a college experience but he has other options that aren't getting written about by the basketball media folks and I'm kind of wondering why we haven't heard G League Ignite pop up or overseas pros pop up with him.

I still wonder what’s going on behind the scenes, stuff we don’t know about. It’s probably NIL related, not unexpected for a player of this level. Still, I’ll take James as soon as he’s willing to commit. I’d love to have both of them.

I agree. I'm thinking ICs indecision speaks loudly of his uncommital to UC. Let's put all our recruiting eggs into James basket

This article makes it sound like USC is most likely with Michigan having a decent shot and UC down with UCLA as nearly no shot.

What I had gathered was could go other way between USC and UC with Michigan still a dark horse. This seems to go against it. I have a hard time believing UC has same chance as UCLA. Also with how quiet collier camp has been and the belief he isn’t about to announce, I’m not sure how much stock to put in this. That being said I’d be thrilled if Jizzle James picked UC regardless.

From what I understand shaw was with the usc coach when he changed from uc being barely in lead at 35percent, to usc at 85%. From what I understand no one knows and miller and Morgan were in atlanta the same day to see collier. Think it's a 50 50 shot between uc and usc with michigan coming in at a close 3rd.
