2022 Transfer Portal Megathread

I'm surprised miller and staff havent made more of a push for some of these highly rated freshman that have de committed from some schools recently, that's purely speculation on my part but would of been nice to try for a sky clark or big that is no longer held to his letter of intent. Maybe they did and realized they were not going to get anyone.

How do we know they haven't. Miller & staff are smartly being very quiet. Chad Brendel at BCJ knows basically where they're aiming, but he's not talking. If he would speak up publicly, Miller would cut him off, something that no reporter wants.

Mardrez McBride, a senior transfer from North Texas, talks UC and a few others. 11.3 ppg w good outside shooting numbers. 6’2 guard. BREAKING: OVC player of the year and Murray State star big man Kj Williams has entered the transfer portal. The 6’10” senior led the top 25 Racers in scoring, and averaged 18 points, and 8.4 rebounds. One of the best players currently in the portal.

@portal_updates: NC State’s Manny Bates is expected to enter the transfer portal. Bates, a 6’11” junior missed the entire 2021-2022 season due to injury. However during the 2020-2021 season Bates earned all-ACC defensive team honors, and averaged 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game.

Illinois record without Curbelo 13-1. Illinois record with Curbelo 10-9.

Obviously some issues there, most likely between Curbelo and the coaching staff. CWM would have to decide if a change of scenery would help or would he just bring baggage to UC, he talks about wanting players who are coach-able. Of course maybe it was something else, but definitely something there.
