2022 Transfer Portal Megathread

They started at Maryland and transferred to Rhode Island. As I recall Makhi was the higher rated prospect, so I wonder if they're still a package deal. In addition to entering the portal, both have declared for the NBA draft, and after seeing what happened to Keith Williams I'm not sure we want to wait for that to play out. I don't believe we ever offered either of them.

Mekhel and Makhi Mitchell are in the portal from URI. They were on Cronin’s radar years ago. 6’10 and 6’9 twins

Illinois guard Andre Curbelo, the 2021 Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year as a freshman into the portal. He was decent this year, just didn't make a leap. Was on all the preseason watch lists.

Also into the portal, ECU guard Tristen Newton, who averaged 17.7/4.8/5.0

I think you go get Curbelo. He can play. Sat the 2nd half of the NCAA game they lost for some unknown reason. Coach's decision.

So.. question for this thread... How can we... maybe it's not possible.... filter this a bit by requiring SOME hint that the player has interest in UC. With the flood of entries into the portal, UC will be telling tons of players, "hey.. here's our number if you are interested".... which really is only a one-way street. Without some "hint" of two-way interest, I don't know how this thread doesn't just become a laundry list of players.

I realize there’s a lot going on in here but I also never intended it to be just about UC targets. If a Xavier starter or a key player from Memphis or Houston, for example, hits the portal then I’m probably including it.

Any legitimate targets will presumably get their own threads.

So I’d recommended people just scroll up and back to see all updates because I intend to keep providing anything relevant and of interest
