We recruited this guy out of HS at one point. I was a little shocked that he ended up at St. Joe's

USC freshman Bronny James is declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft. James, 19, also is entering NCAA transfer portal to maintain flexibility. The combo guard will work out for and visit NBA teams and make a draft decision based on evaluation.

On3's Jamie Shaw listed UC among the many schools that Shakeel has heard from.

We've reached out to 5 available players with BPM of 3.5 or higher: DJ Davis, Connor Hickman, Greg Gordon, Jamarii Thomas, and Jason Edwards. Ra'Heim Moss is a step below at 2.2 but still has a solid statistical profile. The other guys I am hesitant about unless the staff sees something they really like.
A lot of guards. I am not disappointed as it appears the Cats can take one and go for another position if a productive player is available.

Yes, we have brought in transfers who are Big 12 level contributors already and we have been in touch with several this offseason - RaHeim Moss, DJ Davis, and Connor Hickman to name a few. I just don't think Derrick Butler is one of those guys.

Not to be too hard on the guy, but he just doesn't seem like a high major player. He put up 28 against Creighton, which I'm guessing is the sole reason he's getting attention. CMU gave up 109 points in that game.
