”Despite being a late addition to the World Team, has quickly inserted himself as a vocal & positive teammate. He brings a different element to the roster with his open court athleticism and shot making ability on the wing. Will be a fun player to track at @GoBearcatsMBB, next season

Fair, but just saying that the person who wrote that Shon is second-highest ranked recruit that they're surely citing to this https://247sports.com/college/cincin...ltimerecruits/

Lance Stephenson. The 90s recruits were pre-rankings.

Some recruiting services had Dermarr ranked as high as #1. Don't forghet Satterfield, who was also a McD AA in the same class as Dermarr...

Abaev Added to World Team Roster for 2025 Nike Hoop Summit

Nike Basketball announced today that Shon Abaev (Israel) has been added to the World Select Team Men’s roster. Abaev will wear No. 4.

Abaev is a University of Cincinnati commit and is the second-highest rated high school recruit in the program's history. He recently led Calvary Christian Academy to a Florida Class 3A state championship. Abaev replaces Dash Daniels (Australia) who will no longer be participating due to injury.

The 2025 Nike Hoop Summit, featuring a women’s and men’s doubleheader, will be held on Saturday, April 12, at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, and will be live on USA Network and Peacock at 7:30 p.m. ET. Tickets are on sale now by clicking here.

Nike Basketball previously announced the World Select men’s and women’s rosters for the 2025 Nike Hoop Summit. The World’s top talent will join forces to face USA teams, which include several members who won gold medals last summer at the FIBA U17 World Cup and FIBA U18 AmeriCup and represent the high school graduating classes of 2025. The World team features elite talent with players ages 19 and younger across six continents.

In addition to Abaev, the World men’s roster includes Ikenna Alozie, Kiyan Anthony, Tajh Ariza, Bogoljub Marković, David Mirkovic, Omer Mayer, Jaion Pitt, Eric Reibe, Dame Sarr, Tounde Yessoufou and Boyuan Zhang.

The men’s team will be led by coach Marshall Cho of South Korea.

"Because he can get his shot off at any time, he also has a tendency to settle for contested shots, including tough twos. The progression of his overall efficiency will depend on him being a more willing ball-mover and utilizing his vast scoring arsenal within the flow of a more balanced offense."

This is exactly the problem we're seeing with Jizzle. We don't run a balanced offense that allows players like this to improve their efficiency. We let them take tough twos, even encourage it. That has to change.

I didn't watch him in the all-star game. I will wait and comment when he gets into our system and how he plays with the other Cats. I will look for a hungry and winning attitude as all bearcat greats have had.
