Shon Abaev 2025 FL SF 6'7 commit

Abaev is a 4 star top 50 player in the 2025 class. Had a great showing at the NBPA Top 100 camp recently. He has a pretty decent offer list and is a ASU lean for right now. He's out of Calvary Christian Academy in Ft. Lauderdale and plays AAU for SOH Elite.

Based on the video he's operating as a point forward here.

    Arrived in Cincinnati.

Personally was always concerned he’d somehow decommit after the way this season went, being around so many high level players this spring.

We know he’s a scorer, he has had as many as 14 rebounds in a game. He seems rather slight to grab a lot of rebounds in the Big 12 though. Hopefully the monster factory can strengthen him up.

Abaev has a nice stroke. Very confident. He does need to get stronger. Looking at his physique compared to most of the others on the floor, he's quite a bit thinner. I'm sure Mike Rehfeldt has a plan for him.

Nice right to left crossover and take to the rim with 8 minutes left. Bricked a three on the next play. Back to the bench, might be it for him.

Run out layup to start the fourth.

Tallied an assist at the end of the third quarter and then "fouled" Dybansta on a three. Not so sure about that call.

This is a competitive game. Mostly iso and horns sets on offense, but there's constant pressure on the ball, the rim is being protected, and rebounds are contested.
