  • @KayserHoops reporting UC and George Mason (?) will get a visit this week from Quinnipiac's Grant Randall.

Grant is a 6'9, 195 lbs. rising junior from Queens, NY. He impressively went from 1.9 points/game as a freshman to 11.4 points, 6.6 rebounds as a sophomore. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba.../grant-randall

    • Thiam and Allenspach each posted identical 5.0 BPMs last year with almost identical shooting splits. They were both 73% at the rim and 48% from midrange. But Thiam took 63 more midrange shots than rim looks. Allenspach had 63 more rim attempts than midrange shots. So Allenspach shot 64% overall from two compared to Thiam's 57%. They also both fouled exactly 2.9 times per 40 minutes. Thiam made up for the offensive efficiency gap with better defense and a higher block rate. But we've essentially replaced Thiam's production.

Randall posted a 1.3 BPM as a sophomore. A low usage guy who is a good rebounder at the 4. Takes care of the ball but not a creator at all. 34% of three on 4 attempts per game, all of them assisted. Not a shot blocker. I could see him in a backup 4 role.

Based on his yearly season PPG, that 3.6 points cannot be correct.

                • If Haynes, McKinley, and Dzellat return, we'll have plenty of size.

4 years with the same coach. I give him credit for that. Good luck, Jizzle.

He was just a Freshman and a 5* recruit this year. How could it be his third school?

He played his freshman season at Cincinnati and his sophomore season at Syracuse. Now he will play at BYU the 26-27 season, his third season in as many schools.

                                C. Blount had an interesting take on why he left UC. I can only assume it was why he is on his third school and it is not directly about money.
