The whole rebuild thing is out the window. With the portal and NIL,a good coach and a supportive administration teams can turn it around in 1 year. If the new guy doesn't do it in 2 years he and the team will be booed mercilessly. As they should. If they want to enrich themselves in this new college basketball world then they better be prepared to face the music.

With the transfer portal, it won't take as long as it took Huggins and Cronin. You can reload a roster in one year now. The true test will be can a coach get a new roster to gel together in one season.

I'm so happy. As much as I wanted to beat UCF to potentially make the tournament... When they lost I was very stressed out but thought to myself that's gotta be the last straw for Wes right? If he won that game he probably got another year with the same results we've had... Silver lining! I want Calhoun, Huggins, or some surprise big name coach that none of us thought of. I like Wes as a person, he took pictures with my two boys his 2nd year. But as everyone else has said, he wasn't a big12 calibur coach. He will land on his feet and if not he has plenty of millions to enjoy life with. Wish I was an unemployed multimillionaire.... Someone start a new thread for the coaching search

The first year I would be happy with an emphasis on team play and especially watching the team mature and of course beating X.. The second year winning. UC has the league, tradition and some NIL money. They may get more now since Miller is gone.

Concerning Miller. He was given time and money. He just could not win as it is expected at UC. I wish him well, but he leaves with a nice check and he can work in the family business.

Now guys. Let's get behind the new coach and the new team. I am sure we will. Heck he even doesn't have to have an award winning intro speech about our tradition. I want him to make some new traditions. Like winning the BIG 12.

Yeah. I would imagine too that Calhoun finds the UC job an attractive job.

Actually, as I've said before, I like Wes and believe he did his best. I like the way he handled the team, particularly the Jizzle situation. I do believe he cared about the program. Unfortunately for him, you have to win in this line of business. I wish him the best.
              Well said. I second that.

What happens now to UC' s post season (Crown) play? Who will coach the team? I hope that despite all that is happening, the players still want to play for and represent UC on the hardcourt. I think it is important for the school to still field a team for post-season play.

I am very interested in seeing what another coach can do with this bunch of guys. Fast question, now that players are being paid, can they opt out of playing in the post-season? I know that college football players will sometimes decide not to play in bowl games.

Will UC get invited to the Crown? I don’t think that is a sure thing. They might be third or below in the NET of teams not invited to the NCAA tournament. Don’t know.

they appear to be contractly obligated, but with the regime change, it might not be so.

don't the players get paid to play in the Crown. With that in mind I am sure some will play.

It was a 22 point lead at the under 12 minute timeout; 11:34 left, to be exact. And it's in the top 5 all-time NCAA tournament comebacks/collapses.

I was just going off memory and I remembered being up 20 at one point.

I had warned everyone earlier in the week, that was not just another NC State team. That coach had high caliber impact transfers and it wasn't going to be easy.

Someone stated that Wes could possibly take a year off and unwind. Keep in mind that he does not get paid unless he is actively looking for work. Also, players do get paid in the Crown, but they have to win. These players are already getting NIL so do they care? I do believe that the NIL contracts will be changed in the future to require players to be available for post season and that they will have to return their NIL if the leave school (see lawsuit against Sorsby).

Per Scott Springer, John Cunningham informed him that UC will not participate in the Crown or any other postseason tourney.
