Come Dec 16th, will have little room for a lack luster game.

This kind of worries me. Either Houston had a bad day or Xavier had a good one. Or maybe Xavier is better than broadcasted.

          • I saw some of it. Complete whistle fest that kept X in it. Par for the course at Cintas.

Make it a 5:00 PM start. It’ll be crowded down there.

Hopefully our guys saw what kind of effort it's going to take to have any chance to exit Cintas with a win. They know how hard Houston battles and they barely escaped unbeaten. That place is a snakepit for visitiing teams.

                      • Already posted in the Xavier game thread, but first NET rankings dropped today (UC #14!) https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basket...ll-net-ranking

UIC is #52, though on a 2-game losing streak -- but would be great for them to stay inside the top 75 or so

Obviously UC will have plenty of opportunities for marquee wins in the Big 12 (and a boost in strength of schedule)... XU is top 75 and Dayton is top 50, so a road win at X and a neutral win versus UD could also be Quad 1 wins. Evansville (Dec. 29 opponent) is inside the top 100 and would likely be a Quad 3 game, but still nice to wrack up wins against teams like that (FGCU, yesterday's opponent, is barely inside the top 300).

By this trend we'll get Ws vs Stetson and Evansville. Can't wait to see the Kenpom on the Conference opponents. Uh oh..

As of today, and this will obviously change somewhat by the time we head to Provo, Here's the conference:

                                #1 Houston
                                #5 BYU
                                #11 Iowa St
                                #12 Kansas
                                #13 Baylor
                                #18 Oklahoma
                                #32 TCU
                                #33 Texas
                                #37 Cincinnati
                                #42 Texas Tech
                                #67 Kansas State
                                #74 UCF
                                #90 Oklahoma St.
                                #131 West Virginia

If you follow the Non Conference schedule trend, there's a lot of Ls in here.

The bright side is we have a a lot of opportunities to move up in Kenpom and in the NET rankings on strength of schedule. That's the kind of thing that landed WVU in the NCAAs last year despite a bad conference record.
