I was sure that UCF was going to be sitting in the basement -- solid start from them.

And WVU is probably at least a bit better than their #s suggest, as they got some 2-time transfers eligible and now have probably started settling into their roles.

yep. ucf came back from big deficits to both KU and UT - I think they sold their collective soul or something. UT should be 0-4 - UC let them off the hook.

By contrast, here are the five teams with the highest NET rankings that were not chosen:

NC State - 33 (2019)
Clemson - 35 (2019)
TX - 38 (2019)
Furman - 41 (2019)
Penn State - 42 (2021)

In 2019, each of the four teams either had a lousy OOC SOS or wretched Q1 record. They were replaced by Belmont, Temple, AZ State and St. John's.

With the win over TCU last night, the Frogs' loss (at least temporarily) dropped them out of the Top 30 in NET. That makes the win a Q2 result.

Here are UC's Q1 and Q2 results at present:

Q1 (1-3): XU, UD, BYU, Baylor;
Q2 (1-1): TX, TCU

The parameters for each quadrant are:

Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75. Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135. Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240. Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-362.

OK, it's fun to watch all the ranking sites, but they confuse me.

On masseyratings.com, after UC defeats TCU, TCU jumps 11 spots up to #29 while UC drops 6 spots to #43. Oh, and BYU - who UC defeated - jumped 8 spots to #19.

Fran Fraschilla just tweeted the ESPN BPI and all 14 of the Big XII teams are in the Top 16 spots in remaining SOS. We've got the 14th strongest remaining SOS in the country and only BYU is behind us in conference.
