  • I'm not 100 % on this but it looks like we have to win out from here to avoid a Tuesday game in Kansas CIty .

We already hold a tiebreaker over UCF based on head-to-head and would hold a tiebreaker over Kansas State if we beat them - so that's something that would work to our advantage.

UCF finishes the season with Houston and Iowa State at home and TCU on the road. They'll be underdogs in every game so I'm confident we'll finish above them in the final standings.

Kansas St finishes the season with Kansas on the road and Iowa State at home - both difficult games - although Kansas may be more beatable than before if McCullar is still out.

Finishing above KSU will be a taller task, but still possible, and will be a near lock if we win our final 3 games.

Clemson coach Brad Brownell is frustrated that the Big 12 has been able to “manipulate” the NET rankings, he said during a recent radio appearance.

According to Brownell, several schools in the Big 12 put together an easy nonconference schedule in order to boost their efficiency numbers, thus helping their NET ranking.

Brownell argued that there’s really not much difference between any of the major conferences, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at NCAA Tournament bracket projections and the NET. Joe Lunardi has nine Big 12 teams in his latest Bracketology, compared to only five for the ACC.

“A couple of things that folks don’t understand, you can manipulate the NET. … And there’s a strength of schedule dynamic where the Big 12 has managed it with their scheduling. Their nonconference scheduling, they’re playing 300 level teams and winning by 40 and 50 points to increase their offensive and defensive efficiency numbers, which is a big part of the NET tool,” Brad Brownell said Monday on WCCP. “So that’s why you see teams trying to win at the end of games by 30 or 40 points instead of putting in your walk-ons.

Sounds like he and other coaches should schedule differently then, right?

Pitt is the team I mentioned that ran up the score against Q4 teams. How can they complain?

            • Final: @ Baylor 82, Kansas 71. McCullar played and joined Dickinson with 20. The Jayhawks shot 55% (as did the Bears) and turned it over only 8 times, but couldn't keep Baylor from scoring.

"I’m not totally convinced that Oklahoma is going to make the NCAA Tournament. At this point, the Sooners are the ninth team but they absolutely need at least one win this week. I am now convinced that, short of a big run in Kansas City, that both Kansas State and Cincinnati will miss the NCAA Tournament. Kansas State’s loss at Cincinnati on Saturday gave the Bearcats a bit of life and probably snuffed out the Wildcats."

                    • Half: TX 48, @ Baylor 40. The Longhorns hit three treys on their 1st three possessions. Max Aßmas was blazing. He has 17.

Dylan Disu went down with a knee injury. He was helped off and will not return to the game. No prognosis at this point.

                      Final: Baylor 93-85. Bridges 32, Aßmas 33.

                      • Speaking of Injuries, JoJo Tugler for Houston is out for the season with a foot injury. I think that means they're down to 8 and maybe 7 scholarship players healthy.

They're down to 8 healthy players. 3 are out for the season with injuries and 2 others are freshman redshirts.

Their 8th player (and only big man off the bench) is a 6'9 redshirt freshman center who is their version of Sage if you stuck him in Ody's body.
