Ody barely played after Aziz and Jamille became eligible. If a donor wanted Ody to get more minutes, it definitely didn't work.

This is what about ODY. He showed maturity and represented his school and team as a mature and educated UC man.

Simas had been consistently playing 30+ since Dec 19. Aziz played 20-30 all year long. Jamille bounced around from 10 to 20 with no real pattern and actually had a bump up to 20 minutes in that Iowa St game before dropping to 14 again. Jizzle's minutes increased at the very end of the season but bounced around in conference play, and were actually lower in the couple games after Iowa St, some of those taken by CJ. Day Day saw a boost from the upper 20s to lower 30s beginning March 2 against K State. Newman was consistently around 30 all year.

Reed played only 1 minute against Iowa St and the preceding Houston game (and 10 or less in the previous 4) before jumping up to 14 and 13 after. If a donor was looking for playing time after the Iowa St game, Reed is the only guy who got it, but that boost was gone by the conference tournament. The PGs started playing together more beginning February 24, but that coincides with the only three games Vik played significant minutes after Iowa St.

I do love a good conspiracy though.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing regarding my man Ody Oguama and his sudden reduction in playing time. If that is the case, it all makes sense now.

I agree with you. The money that is flying around is not only insane, it is dangerous for college sports. One of the reasons Sabin (football) got out of college sports.

perhaps in theory only but not in actual practice. If you want to compete, there are unwritten rules. These guys coming in have spent literally hundreds of hours working on basketball skills and much less on academic.

The main money man in the OSU collective (which is #1) says no rules this year, but soon to come. A college degree can be seen as a union card getting you in a trade. It can also be seen as furthering your education. Both are good. This world is too big for company's to know everybody. Thus they trust that a legit school has done the necessary foundation building in a person and stands by their rep as the producer of the producers. Not always so, but it is our system.

I will say something positive about Reynolds as he leaves. I mentioned many time he set the pick & roll, but our guards didn't get him the ball as he was open. Perhaps this is why CWM is looking for guards in the portal. Reynolds would have had better stats if he was playing on a unit that played team ball and one that could see the floor and not just lobs. That is my humble opinion. I spoke of the negatives during the games, but will say the good as he leaves.

He played pretty well as a 5, too. Wes got hosed by Utah Valley and fantasized about having Aziz as his rim protector. Too bad Aziz is pretty much a on dimensional player. Vik basically got displaced to the 4 (thus him trying to develop a 3 shot). Vik was a natural back to the basket guy, but CWM had a love of 2 bigs on the floor simultaneously (which never seemed to work out for him). Vik became wasted talent in CWM's eyes. Bandaego is still here while Vik and Reynolds are gone, so CWM is going to have to go back to a more conventional offense. Maybe he should rewatch that UC/ISU a few more times. Vik could have possibly contained Avila on D and probably scored easily on him with his baby hook. I wish Vik well ad hope that whoever grabs him let's him play a post game where he excels - and he will. I am wondering how our Cats will do next season, and what type of offense we'll run. Wes, sadly, won't find another Vik Too bad Avila isn't in the portal. Good luck Vik!!!
I’m not too sure playing a stretch 4 wasn’t on Vik’s wish list.
He was a big NBA fan from what I have read, thus the
    love of the 3 ball.

Traore for BYU is the first guy that comes to mind. He has a Maxiell body, not all that tall but broad and a very strong true post player.
