    Georgia Tech 11/23 2:00 ESPN+

Next up are the Yellow jackets of GT. GT is 2-2 this season with losses to UGA and North Florida. This team should be better than version of GT we previously played. It's year 2 for Damon Stoudamire and the transfer portal was good to him.

They go about 7 deep and the best player is Baye Ndongo, who averages 15 and 8. I would like to think that UC can wear them out with the short bench they have.

ESPN Analytics is giving us an 83% chance to win here. I have not seen a line on the game yet.

Simas is currently leading the nation in offensive BPM at 17.4. He's second overall, just behind Ryan Kalkbrenner.

Aziz is 9th in the country in defensive BPM.

Our bigs are our best defenders, so their best scorer being a big should be a good matchup for Aziz/Mitchell and a good test for the backup bigs. Doesn't look like Ndongo is a great offensive rebounder either, which is our big area of weakness right now.

This is a revenge game for Georgia Tech. It has not forgotten the beatdown that Cincinnati gave them last season. I am sure that the coaching staff has circled this game on the schedule. My guess is that Georgia Tech is going to try to jump on UC right from the start. It may be very important for UC to have a good defensive (and offensive) start to the game. It is also my guess that GT will play UC very hard all game long. I hope that UC is really ready to play this game because Georgia Tech will be ready to play. This is their chance to return the beatdown from last year (at home). Georgia Tech has NOT forgotten UC.

I have two grandkids over whom I don't see as much as my others so I won't be watching live. I will try to get it in some time, but I am looking forward to see how Day Day responds to his second game back.

The way rosters are comprised today, with the transfer portal affecting so many rosters, I don't know if a revenge game applies from season to season. Within a season, a league revenge game is possible. I don't know who GT has on its roster from last year, but I bet it has mostly changed from last season.

I hope we play better today than we did against NKU. If we get out rebounded again we could be in for trouble. Dan Skillings we need you!

Of their top five scorers from 2023-24, the Wreck lost two: G Miles Kelly (13.9 & 5.5) and G Kyle Sturdivant (8.8 & 2.1). They brought in a few transfers, most notably Javian McCollum, who was probably the Sooners' best player last season.

                  GA Tech's leading scorer is F Baye Ndongo (15.8 & 8.0) over 30.5 mpg. He's followed by McCollum (14.8 & 4.0), who has averaged 31.3 mpg.

In their four games, the Jackets have launched 115 trey attempts (28.8/g), hitting 37 (32.2%). Three different guards have taken at least 20 from outside, led by Kowacie Reeves, who is 8/26 (30.8%). McCollum has hit the best percentage of the four (8/20).

We need someone demanding them to stop watching and get into the game. Plus they need to be taught the basics of rebounding.

Looks like anyone who thought that GT was going to be up for this was wrong. They're flatter than roadkill.

Especially not now. Mitchell just injured himself dropping from the rim on the alley oop.
