I got your point but while saying bad defense, I don't think you realized how serious it was. It could have lost the game. Plus, I don't put karma on a player. It is skill or lack of skill.
-
Of course it was bad defense but you missed my point. and the conversation I was replying to was when he stared down KM after making a 3 and that, my friend, is why I said KarmaOriginally posted by leo from jersey View Post
What is disturbing is how did the Cats allow him to be totally wide open knowing he can hit the three and tie the game. That is what I thought. It wasn't karma but bad defense both 3s.

Yeah it shocked me how that he could be so open. Few ran back on defense. No celebrations or relaxation till the buzzer.Originally posted by London 'Cat View Post
It was bad defense. I imagine the coaches caught it while reviewing the game. Hopefully they emphasize that poor defense so it won't happen going forward.

I think he did that after making a 3. Karma that he missed a wide open 3 to send game to overtime.

Sean Miller said tonight that it's a knee injury of some sort. Too much swelling at this point for an MRI.Originally posted by Lobot View Post
Yep back injury. I remember that. He took a while to get right after falling on the floor flat

They believe it occurred with about four minutes left when ZF tried to stop a lob and fell hard to the floor. He limped around for a while after that, but stayed in the game.
From about that point, his name appears only three times in the play-by-play. He had a TO at 2:15, an assist at 1:50, and the missed trey at the horn.

Zach Freemantle out indefinitely with a lower body injury suffered during the Shootout.
Not certain this is an NCAA Tournament team with him, but if he's out for a long time then I have a hard time seeing XU doing much without him.

I really appreciated his owning it with a hearty "Definitely" when asked if he left early. So often, players will try to be all cagey and dodge the question. I thought it was cool that he just was like,"Yep. I did that".Originally posted by Lobot View PostDan Skillings admitted post game that he left the line early for his missed foul shot and put back and the refs missed it. Swain never blocked him out at all so even if he leaves a tick a later, he gets to the rebound regardless. X fell asleep at the wheel on that play.

I came here today to comment on Mitchell's post game comments and how stoked he was to play this game. It was just a sincere, non-stereotypical post game interview that highlighted his joy. He seems to simultaneously play extremely hard yet like a kid getting to do his most favorite thing ever. I wonder for our players if yesterday becomes the spark for our own 4-5 year run against X.Originally posted by leo from jersey View PostListened to D. Mitchell. He is genuinely happy to be a Cat. I can see him as the spokesman for the next 2 years. He even chuckled when CWM said the team shot FTs very well. He seems team oriented, and he needs to be listened to by the team now. C. Hickman earned the right to be a Bearcat. He didn't play a perfect game, but he was what the Cats needed when few were contributing. He ran the offense for a bit and it resulted in points. He rebounded and was possibly the best defender. Most of al,l he was calm and played basketball. That is floor leadership which is so lacking among the so called better players. I am glad he is here and if he fizzles out the rest of the year, he was a major part in beating X. Good job.
