Just saw that Wright is getting $3.5 million. I can see the upside, but we're talking about a guy who made only 43% from two this year. 2.3 BPM. That's crazy money.

With all of the transfer discussion, here is an article about high school recruiting and how the Big 12 has more top-rated recruits than any other conference. Watch out for Houston. https://fanrecap.com/big-12-dominate...EdeGXIK3tRs-2g

He was UC's answer to XU's often random player who provides a spark with threes off the bench in the Crosstown Shootout.Originally posted by sedz View PostI had high hopes for Hickman, and it's too bad we never got to see what he can do when healthy.
That and him showing off a good vertical jump in the preseason was all I remember.

It's possible that he goes to IN with Drew Adams, who is a longtime family friend. Hickman still needs to receive NCAA hardship clearance.Originally posted by GoBearcats31 View PostConnor Hickman >>> Transfer Portal

6'9 Achor Achor has entered the transfer portal.
He averaged 16.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks a year ago at Samford. He played in 7 games this year for Kansas State (7.3 ppg) before leaving the team for personal reasons. Maybe one year left?
Here is what sedz said about him last year:
Originally posted by sedz View PostThis would be a home run. Achor had a 7.1 BPM last year - that's higher than anyone we've contacted in the portal this year including all of the big names like Stewart, Mayo, and Small. We haven't had a player with a BPM north of 7 since Jarron Cumberland in 2019.
Achor does everything well. He can score efficiently inside and out at high usage and he gets to the free throw line. He's a great rebounder and shot blocker. And against top 100 competition his BPM was actually a bit higher at 7.3. He put up 23 points and 7 rebounds against Kansas in the tourney.
I'm all in on Achor.Last edited by GoBearcats31; 04-10-2025, 11:04 AM.

Houston and Texas Tech play 3 small guards. Those were the top two teams in the conference. You just have to be able to rebound and defend as a team. Our guards didn't rebound and we don't double effectively. But that absolutely can change with different guards and a new scheme. I don't like the offense Wes runs, but he had success defensively with small guards at UNCG. I'm sure we can replicate that.Originally posted by zykarious View Post
If he can get a few physical guards who play bigger than their size, a 3 or 4 guard lineup would likely be cheaper to build. The taller guys are, the fewer of them there are. Less supply, more demand, higher price tag. Stock up on relatively cheap guards who can play minutes as a backup 3 or even backup 4, go all in on a couple of big men.
Could a 3 or 4 guard lineup compete physically in the big 12? That might be a tough ask, we managed last year with Simas playing a lot of time at the 4 and Reed played a lot of 4 this year, but we also weren't physical enough.

40% turnover rateOriginally posted by GoBearcats31 View PostUC has contacted 6’5 guard Rakease Passmore, a highly rated recruit who did very, very little this year as a freshman for KU.
Bring Wes all the guards!
. No wonder he didn't play much. He did see 7+ minutes in 10 games, so it's not like he was only playing in the final minute of blowouts. He has a lot of work to do. Negative 7.4 BPM.

Yes that's the point I was facetiously making. Millers record of portal acquisitions is less than stellar in competing in the B12. Frustrating!
