I would still take him. 39% career three point shooter on high volume. 3.7 BPM this year. You can play three guards if they can shoot. Houston and Texas Tech for example.

Now they more than likely will test the waters in the portal after a year or two to see if they can get more money especially depending on how much success they have had. Calipari said that a lot of recruits don't have scholarships yet because teams are waiting to see what players they get out of the portal.

In the NFL you build through drafting and free agency and it seems like college is now the same way. Recruiting is college's way of "drafting", even though in college you have a choice as to who "drafts" you,
and the portal is their form of "free agency". Maybe some rules will be passed down the road to add some level of stability to this.
Except in the NFL, draft picks stay around a few years, can develop and you get them cheap. In college they become free agents after 1 year, which takes away most of the benefit of "drafting". So it's more like the NFL if free agency was out of control.

Skillings is currently the 15th best player in the portal by BPM. Reed is #71.

And there you go! That's my opinion as well.

If we had a new coach it would be undertsandable. Unfortunately Wes is more than settled in. So there's definetly more between the lines here.

Miller has one year to turn this around I believe!

I’m so tired of all of it. In the future when we welcome back former Bearcats, who will we welcome? 40 years ago I attended every home game of a 3-25 team that didn’t win a D1 game. Now, I don’t know.

Doesn't even matter how good of a season you had. High profile players from Alabama and Texas Tech are in the portal, a couple of elite eight teams. There are a bunch of P5 tournament teams with 3+ players in the portal: 5 from Baylor, 5 from Clemson, 5 from Kansas, 3 from BYU, 3 from Maryland, 3 from Michigan, 3 from St Johns.

What if Dan Skillings ends up at UK??

“Most of the team will be in the portal” and “Everybody’s leaving” are phrases I’ve heard. Obviously the “everybody” is hyperbole but indicative of the current state of affairs.

UC will have a mid major team next year with the outgoing guys and incoming guys. A damn shame.

I used to like Wes Miller. No longer.

So (6) Players have hit the Portal! Still waiting on Mitchell since others have said he's probably gone. So that's basically half of your team from thsi past year!

Is Wes cleaning house, or have these players seen enough?
Of the 16 players on last years team, at most 6 of them will return. 4 however seems the number to bet on (Chad doesn't think Hickman will get a waiver and thinks Mitchell will transfer) and 2 of those 4 didn't play or barely played (Dzellat and McKinley). We had less roster turnover when Brannen "blew up" the team in his final season. But we somehow have to believe Wes has a plan to get us to the NCAA tournament next year.

    1,800+ players in the portal
    364 D1 schools
Average is 5-6 players per school

    Unfortunately, the new norm.

I could see Skillings in a Jalon Moore type role at Oklahoma. I'd like to see what a good tactician like Porter Moser can do with him.
