BearcatBunch added Hansberry to their portal tracker despite Virginia Tech officially announcing a commitment yesterday. Apparently Morgan and Dollar followed his socials. Who knows. Maybe Sencire Harris is in his ear.

Gov. DeWine issued an executive order concerning NIL which also makes payments to athletes for NIL exempt from public records. Not sure whether this will pass muster under Ohio law but nobody has challenged it yet as far as I know.Originally posted by bearcatbret View Post
BYU will not have to disclose any information about what they are spending. The same is true to any private institution.

Like it or not, this is the current state of college basketball. As others have posted, it is happening to P4 programs who made the NCAA tournament. Nobody is exempt other than the blue blood programs and those programs are experiencing it too just to a lesser extent.Originally posted by zykarious View Post

yep. him leaving, to me, hurts a little more, as he's a hometown kid. plus, i just really question if he got a real chance.
last year, everyone thought wes was a genius, and had put it together. this year, it's all fallen apart. coaching? personalitites? I'm not sure what, but, whatever it is, the 'cats are just about at rock bottom. new coach or not, this looks damn near like a full rebuild. just a sad situation.

My guess is these guys are tired of losing. They do not see the possibility of playing in the NCAAs with Miller. Very sad for the program. Now add Mitchell to the list.Originally posted by GoBearcats31 View PostArrinten Page >>> Transfer Portal

Agents will act in their personal interest first. Many of the guys who enter the portal don’t find another home, essentially ending their careers. Either way, I’m tired of all of it.Originally posted by zykarious View Post
Who says they aren't acting in the best interest of the players? Getting paid an extra $100k is certainly in the players interest. Loyalty isn't going to trump $100k or more for most players, it wouldn't for most of us either. It's free agency every year and entering the transfer portal is generally more likely to result in a pay raise.
I don't blame the players, I have no issue with them getting paid. The NCAA completely botched it by refusing to change until courts forced the issue. Now we need contracts and collective bargaining, but the NCAA is still refusing to be proactive. It's coming eventually, I just hope the pay-to-win era is a short one.
