Basketball Transfer Portal '25

Of the approximately 2,050 kids in the portal, only 19% have committed anywhere to-date. UC has three in now, with more to come. No one's rushing into this. There are a ton of players left. It's just a matter of whether very many of them are worth it.

I just saw a tweet (or whatever it's called now) from Fran Frachilla that he spoke to a P5 assistant, who said the elite players are essentially spoken for. His school is "shopping at TJ Maxx" now.

Agree to disagree! I would consider Mitchell an elite player via the portal. And Skillings not that far behind Mitchell. I don't believe either are spoken for?

They might be. What gets shared publicly is pretty limited. Players could very well have made decisions and are just working through details before anything gets announced officially.

This makes a lot of sense. Scott Drew values offensive rebounding above all else, and that's what Dan does best. Baylor is a perennial top 20 offense. I hope Dan is able to play to his strengths there and find success.

Well that's two down! I was hoping Skillings would return to UC. I guess will see the new version of Skillings in late 25/early 26!

Skillings indicated following the 23-24 season that 24-25 would be his last. We all assumed he meant he would declare for the NBA draft but perhaps he had other intentions behind that statement. Maybe everyone stuck around to give CWM and staff one last chance to make a run. When it didn't happen according to expectations, they decided to bail. Speculation on my part but there could be some truth in there.

I thank Skillings for being a Bearcat and wish him well in any future plans.
