Gov. DeWine issued an executive order concerning NIL which also makes payments to athletes for NIL exempt from public records. Not sure whether this will pass muster under Ohio law but nobody has challenged it yet as far as I know.

Did I miss this in the 40 page thread??? Mitchell to the portal. Looking like we will average 5 rebounds per game next year...by luck. For all those saying it would be too expensive to get rid of Wes last season, how much more will it cost in lost revenue from worse team and half filled 5/3??? Sometimes your first loss is your best loss. They are still going to pay him...whether to coach a crappy team or go to UNC games with Roy.

It does appear you missed that. Mitchell, Betsey and Griffith all indicate that staying at UC is an option for them. Maybe CWM and staff have a plan. Time will tell.

6'7 G/F Jamir Watkins (two years at VCU with a knee injury in the year in between, and the past two years at FSU) is hitting the portal. The RS senior averaged 18.4 / 5.7 / 2.4 this past year for FSU.

Again, not sure about eligibility. Has played four seasons; would get a bonus COVID year but can he double-dip on the bonus year with the medical redshirt he took in 2021-22. I don't see why he wouldn't get a fifth year if healthy players did.

Last year, UC was listed at one point in his top 6 -- to which someone wrote in last year's thread: "Where would he play? He's a SF. Dan Skillings, Tyler Betsey, Josh Reed, and Rayvon Griffith already man that position, as can Simas Lukosius." Well, looks like that problem is solved!

High usage 3 level scorer with a 4.6 BPM. We badly need a player like that.
6'10 sophomore Malique Ewin is also in the portal from Florida St, an elite rebounder and high usage interior scorer with a 5.6 BPM.

We should have money to spend now, gotta land a couple stars instead of loading up on role players.

I would not. Aligbe has been bad all 3 years at BC and Seton Hall.

I was just thinking about this. Sophomore Nils Machowski from UCF is in the portal. He made three triples against us in the Crown. 37% shooter for the season and 4.0 BPM. I wouldn't mind that.

Tyler Hendricks too. 6'6 sophomore wing who didn't play much in the regular season but saw a lot of action in the Crown and put up some impressive numbers, including 14 pts against us.

Yeah, Phillips has some holes in his game. He'd be a Page replacement as a backup I think. Here's my post about him from last week:

Phillips had a 0.2 BPM this year. He's a pretty good defender and rebounder (2.3 defensive BPM, 10% OReb), but a turnover machine (24% rate) who fouls a lot (6.6 per 40 minutes). Those weaknesses would be normal for a freshman, but you'd expect some improvement by a player's third season. His turnover rate has actually regressed each season though. If Page's turnovers were keeping him off the floor, I'm not sure Phillips would fare much better.

UC among many schools to contact Charleston's Ante Brzovic, a 6'10 senior from Croatia who posted 18.4 / 8.1 this year.

He just sued the NCAA over eligibility (apparently was denied, prior to the suit, on April 1). He began his career at a D-II and redshirted one year to get adjusted to college life, learn English during COVID. Seems to be arguing that his 16 games in 2021-22 shouldn't have counted due to his circumstances...
