      • You know what? I'm tired of freaking losing to good teams. Then the excuses, we will get better & do better, etc. When? When? When?

Here is the same article on USA Today which is free:

These are my feelings exactly. Early in CWM's tenure you could be encouraged by a strong performance against good competition. However we see that it's always about "we will get better" and they never do. The same problems persist thoroughout the year. The next thing you know we are deep in to the season and all opportunities except winning the conference tournament are gone. There is no sense of urgency with Miller.

While the talent is not perfect it is the best he has had. I believe many of the better coaches in our conference could take this team and be in the top third and make the tournament. Until I see it I doubt Miller can or will.

            • I don't have any mumbo / jumbo metrics, but the first half Friday, uc was working in the half court offensively, trying to, and getting, decent shots, outside of Mr. Abaev. Second half turned into a pickup game, and UL ran away with it. I'm not a basketball coach, but it seems kinda obvious that uc needs to play to its strengths, not just look like a pickup game at the Y - esp. when your shots aren't dropping.

                • So many season ticket holders sold their seats to BYU fans - the lower section had about 5-7K of blue. I mention this as the article, while I don't care for William's writing style at all, has some valid points. Apathy is setting in on both programs, player development is too slow if there at all and accountability is non-existent for players and coaches (these go hand in hand). Players take on the example of their coaches.

                  • There were way too many BYU fans in the stands. I have to applaud them for showing up in such numbers and they were loud.

I know, I could have sold my two for $1000, but I didn’t. I’m afraid player development is an outmoded idea these days, with massive turnover every year. The days of guys staying 3-4 years are over.

This is my last year of season tickets btw, at my age the walk to my seat is becoming too much, the steps at Nippert aren’t really easy to navigate. From now on a warm seat on my couch.

We had season tckets for many years - but my wife is 86 and I'm 88 - getting to the games/seats just became too hard - I know just how you feel.

                        • Satterville's now 1-10 in November:

Outscored 32.7 to 18.9 per game (13.8 or 2 TD average)
                          Allowed 40+ 4x
                          Allowed 30+ 7x
                          Scored more than 24 1x
                          Scored fewer than 20 6x

I suspect he'll only add to this futility this Saturday, but this clearly shows lack of coaching ability and overall poor performance in conference crunch time. This clown can't be gone soon enough.

I wonder why this (and other posts) are located here under Louisville basketball instead of the football threads?

                            • I think the collapse during the 2nd half of the L’ville struck many of us the same way the football coach and program are performing.
