There's a brief practice report from Keegan Nickoson of Bearcat Journal starting exactly at the 1 hour mark of Monday night's podcast.
About half the players on the roster got some form of an individual update.

There is a hearing today in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas case in which former Calhoun players MJ Collins and Kolby King are seeking another year of eligibility (to play at UC), among others.
Calhoun has been brought into the fray. An assistant AG in Ohio filed a motion to quash a subpoena, which the plaintiffs' attorney attempted to serve on him (a non-party) yesterday to appear for testimony today.
The Complaint filed back on June 24 mentions "Collins intends to play in the 2026-26 season at the University of Cincinnati...should he receive relief from this Court." The same language was used for King. Another plaintiff in the matter is former Bearcat Josh Reed.Last edited by GoBearcats31; 07-01-2026, 01:43 PM.

What a year for Baba Miller. Drafted into the NBA and more importantly; he received his college degree. I am so happy for that young man. I sincerely hope that he goes on to have a long and fruitful NBA career. Good luck to Baba Miller.
By the way, his given name is Papa Ababacar Bartolome Miller.

That motion was denied... Adding a player like Collins, he said, would make UC "a better team and a better locker room."
Calhoun also was asked about how much money was budgeted for players, but an attorney for the university objected to the question, and he didn't have to answer it.
Collins and Borovicanin also testified at the July 1 hearing.
Another former Utah State player, Kolby King, also is a plaintiff in the lawsuit and hopes to play for UC in the upcoming season. King did not make himself available through the NCAA's transfer portal, and it's unclear if UC would face sanctions if he were deemed eligible and then transferred.

The ruling is supposed to come down on the ninth I believe. If the blue blood schools can hire their high priced lawyers ( and judges ( Texas Tech 😉 ) to rule in their favor then why can't our lawyers be biased too. Secondly how can playing for fifty four days as a pro and still be eligible for a fifth year but yet a college athlete, ( yet still a pro by all intents and purposes, not be eligible. #3, what does it all all matter if when it's all said and done it's about how every d1 school is only looking to buy a championship, and only the ones who have the highest payroll are the ones who are trying to put the kibosh on this in order to keep schools like UC, little fish/ big pond in their place. Maintain the pecking order and their individual legacies in tact. And #4 who should care in this atmosphere of legal betting. The "house" is going to prevail. But what do i know, I've only seen this world deteriorate piece by piece for the last seventy years.Last edited by Rufus; 07-04-2026, 03:34 PM.
