The MAC has cancelled its entire season. That’s removes 2 of our 3 remaining non conference games from the schedule.
Still awaiting word on FCS teams from the OVC which affects Austin Peay.

Per USAToday, Louisville has dismissed 3 men’s soccer players that went to an off campus party that resulted in 29 positive tests in their athletic department.

The conference has. What I was going for is that Council is led by what everyone calls an academic institution leader and not a P5 or even G5 AD. That could significantly change the outcome.Originally posted by richard k. View Post
That's my daughter's school (count 'em 3 degrees) - haven't the Ivies already pulled the plug for the fall?

In short, no one wants to be the one to pull the plug. The Council is chaired by the AD at Penn. (not Penn St, Penn). You only get one guess where this is headed.[/QUOTE]

Quite of few more non-UC players have opted out for the season. Most are planning on returning. Rondale Moore at Purdue declared for the draft today. First player I've seen explicity say that.
No UC players have opted out. They want to play the season.

FCS BoG has decided that it's up to the schools and if more than 50% or more of the teams cancel there will be no FCS championship. Still waiting on what this means for individual member schools. Just because the Championship is canceled doesn't mean the remaining teams like Austin Peay won't play their in season schedule.

For D1 - NCAA BoG has punted to the NCAA Board of Directors which immediately punted to the D1 Council. Per Chris Vaninni the BoD is University presidents, the Council is ADs and conference commisioners.
In short, no one wants to be the one to pull the plug. The Council is chaired by the AD at Penn. (not Penn St, Penn). You only get one guess where this is headed.

Lousiville has 29 positives and has paused workouts in 4 sports for 2 weeks thanks to an off campus party. None of the positives were in football or basketball but geez...
Lousiville is a typo but since it works, I’m leaving it like that.

That's all good and well, but you can only control your team. Each week if you play teams with guys who have Covid, not a lot you can do about it. I guess you could try and wear a mask under your helmet, but "responsible" will be a relative thing with 50 or so guys on each team bumping into each other for several hours.Originally posted by swilsonsp4 View PostFickell needs to post this anywhere where players might wander:
Chargers DE Joey Bosa, on dealing with COVID during the season: "The most responsible team is going to be the one who wins."

Starting to see players that are expected to go high in the draft opt out of the season. Best WR, Bateman at Minnesota and best LB, Micah Parsons at Penn St, are not going to play and will prepare for the draft instead.
