How hot is Satterfield’s seat this year? We just saw Wes Miller get canned, even though his team seemed to have improved slightly each season, and even though last season was probably his best team. Wes never reached the level we expected, and seemed to just be treading water. I think it’s fair to say that football under CSS also seems to just be treading water, not close to what we experienced before he arrived. I think another season of 6-7 wins with a losing conference record should not be acceptable in year 4. What will it take to keep CSS from following Wes Miller out the door? What is the buyout? Is he gone for sure if it’s another losing record?

Nothing is assured, unless the Cats win at least 7 games. I doubt that they'd let him go at that point. If so, they'd owe him $5.53M (70% of $7.9M, the remaining portion of his six-year deal). Those are common contractual terms for NCAA D1 head coaches. The agents represent multiple coaches, know what they all make, and use that in their negotiations.Originally posted by longtimefan View PostHow hot is Satterfield’s seat this year? That said, let's just watch the games and see how this season plays out—preferably for the best.
