  • Iowa State 10/14 Noon FS1

Homecoming is soldddd out. The Cyclones come to town a bit beat up between gambling suspensions and injuries. They're 2-3 overall and 1-1 in conference.

They start a Redshirt Freshman at QB in Rocco Becht. This season was supposed to be a good one for ISU but gambling thing in the state of Iowa took out their starting QB and other starters and backups as well. I think they lost about 8 players to this. the 'clones have A close win over Ohio U and a close win over Oklahoma St. with a blowout loss to Oklahoma mixed in. Whatever we did against Oklahoma's offense, they didn't watch tape of for the game in Norman because Oklahoma dropped 50 on them.

Iowa St. does not run the ball that well and only generates about 300 yards of offense a game. However, their defense holds the run game to about 120ypg. Guys to watch are the QB, Becht , and DB TJ Tampa, who we missed on in recruiting under Fickell.

This is a game we should win. ESPN predictor has us at 69% to win. It's a matter of limiting turnovers, which we couldn't do against BYU. We might have to throw it around a bit in this one. Hopefully we can get the offense in some sort of flow early and spread the ball around.

I wonder if this is another game where we double their yards, double their time of possession and we cannot find the endzone. It is also the rumored game of TK and TS attending homecoming. If I wasn't taking friends to this game, I would try to sell my tickets for $200 a pop just for the swifties to get a glimpse.

I'm perfectly happy to enjoy homecoming from the tailgate lot if they go. How/when do we find out for sure? I think my whole tailgate group is thinking the same

If it’s left to TS Security team and UC, I’d be surprised if this isn't completely under wraps if it even happens at all. Their handlers would prefer her to arrive post kick off and come in for a half time or end of 1st quarter field appearance and go right back out. While the new stadium suites seem logical, there is way too much interaction with the general public getting in and out of there. It wasn’t built for global superstars like NFL stadiums have in place. It might be possible that they use a revel field box in the endzone, if anything. She could be driven right into the visitor locker room tunnel and then be escorted a few feet into one of those keeping her fairly isolated and evacuated very easily should need arise. I’m envisioning Liam Neison leading the security team from Taken.

Left up to Travis to plan this date, I'm guessing he’d go kegs, eggs and flip cup at 8am at Woody’s, brunch down the street at Adriadicos, hit the Grid for the Cat Walk and then seats in the middle of the student section :-)

        oh…and cats by 90!

I suppose the Chiefs having a bye or playing the Thursday prior to UC’s Homecoming is fairly rare? That would be pretty wild if TK & TS showed up. There must be a number of suites that could accommodate them with appropriate security.

Due to a death in the family, I have 2 front row Gravity Club seats (sec 332, Row A, Seats 8 &9) and a parking pass for sale to Saturday's Homecoming game. If you've ever wanted to try the Gravity Club out, this is your chance. The Club includes individual padded seats with cupholders, free food (usually pizza, Skyline coney, other meats or breakfast items, veggies, chips, popcorn, desserts and soft drinks/bottled water), uncrowded rest rooms, and access 2 hours before kickoff. We've got $280/game/seat invested and will take $300 for both seats and the parking pass. I'm also going to list them on the Bearcat Journal website. DM me if interested.

Nowhere else to put this so here's the National defensive stop rate going into this game. I think these were pulled from PFF by the Athletic. We're at 64 mostly thanks to BYU. ($)

In yesterday's presser, they mentioned that ISU plays a 3-3-5 defense. RBs should have a good day getting to the second level.

I have four tickets and our two guests have to be in North Carolina for family. I will trade my four tickets for your two tickets. My seats are in Section 126 Row 15 and have seat cushions/backs. I have a parking pass so I will not need yours. I have over $200 in my 4 seats. I will trade my 4 tickets for your 2 tickets plus add $100.

We've talked about this BUT - just got a missive from UC - we are currently #2 in the conference in defense and #3 in offense and yet are 0-2; nationally #10 in time of possession, yet 2-3. The stats are great, the results not so much! My attitude - wear any darn color you want until we start actually winning something - changed the flag outside the house - doing all sorts of little things like that - hope it helps.

I thought Satterfield’s remarks about the RB’s this week were kind of lame. I’m not much a fan of his general communication style.

It certainly came across differently than his intent, I believe. He attempted to recover from the first comment by saying he believes in the RBs on the roster. However, what he says is true - the RB room lacks elite speed. Every time they break a long run they are caught from behind.
