Miami is coming off a bye after losing to Northwestern 13-6 in Week 1. They've had two weeks to dissect the UC defense and offense on tape and the game is at Yager Stadium.

I think it's hard to gauge how good or bad Miami is this year on one game against a bottom tier P4. The Redhawks don't play an FCS team this year to compare against UC's win over Towson. I think it's safe to say Pitt is better than Northwestern though or at least we made them look that way.

ESPN predictor has us at a 55% chance to win and I'm not sure what they're looking at. Hopefully Miami is looking ahead on this one. The next game on the schedule for Miami is at Notre Dame.

In the event that we lose this game, it'll be interesting to see the next move from the administration re: Satterfield. We should not lose this game in the current football climate, even at Yager.

    The series is tied.

P.S. Chuck Martin has a chance to get two coaches fired in successive weeks here after NIU upset ND yesterday.

As I said last year after the loss to the Redskins, this game must be in the coach's contract as a must win or cause for dismissal.

I hate to say this, but Miami wins 31-17.

Win or lose, at least I’m gong to eat Bagel Stop! I see no competitive future for UC football under Satterville.

I talked to a friend who is from Louisville, and he asked me "why the he*l" would we hire a guy that they were going to fire at UL. Saved them millions. He then thanked me.....Defies logic.

Look deeper into that. Satterfield was never respected by the fans and boosters there because they wanted Jeff Brohm to begin with and had an interim AD making that hire who then left after 2 more years. Would they have fired him? Maybe. Looked like he was going to get one more year there after a late run but who knows. Was it smart for him to leave before they could push him out? Yes because they were not happy about him contacting South Carolina in 2021. Shane Beamer got that job over him.

Did we pay his buyout to get him? Yes, and it looks really foolish until you realize that Wisconsin paid the exact same amount of buyout for Fickell and it was a net zero from a financial standpoint on the contracts. The part that really bugs me from UC isn't this. It's the university's buyout and guaranteed salary on the contract. I think our booster put us over a barrel and we lost any type of leverage on that contract. I believe we were dealing with super agent Jimmy Sexton on that one. He's the agent responsible for resetting the market when Nick Saban got 10M /yr.

I get that it might not be last year within the locker room. That's a good thing. I'm all for a positive way forward.

However, The results haven't changed so far this year and that's an issue. Maybe it will actually turn around but the company line isn't going to hold water if we don't win this week and against Houston.

Yeah, I was being entirely cynical ….. I’d expect him to say nothing less as he hired Satterville. That was a Dave Shula-esque coaching effort Saturday.

We met a Louisville fan on vacation and he also thanked us for taking him off of their hands. Sigh.......
