Former FSU, UC, UK, UCF, QB "guru" Darrin Hinshaw has landed at Purdue. Bookmark this post and we'll see if the QB survives the year up there next season.

Longo is a Bearkat -- new HC at Sam Houston.

Apparently the team is just Sam Houston (not Sam Houston State), which is similar to what I noticed with recent UC BB opponent Nicholls.

    Life of a college coach.

According to Wikipedia, he was married in 2003 (when he would have been a GA at Missouri) and has since been to New Hampshire, Wyoming, Missouri again, Washington State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC, Wisconsin and UCF. Seems like the southeast was the only part of the contiguous USA that he had not covered until now.

Breaking: Sacramento State is in discussions to hire former QB Mike Vick as its head coach, sources tell @AdamSchefter. The school plans to move up to FBS, is building a new stadium and has over $50M in NIL. Sacramento State would build an experienced coaching staff around Vick.

At some point, the NCAA will change their payouts to match the NFL. Star players in the NFL make 3-5 times what the top coaches get, and there are several lower paid coaches. Imagine UC renogitating Satterfield's contract by $2,000,000 and diverting that money to the players via NIL. Then imagine a young hungry coach willing to take a few hundred thousand for the HC job, knowing he can buy top recruits with the rest (if the university commits) and then parlay a winning season into a job at a win hungry big-money school. Even a coach like Deion can win with the top paid recruits. The youth movement is already all-the-rage in NFL and NCAA head coaching hires.
