Lobat, you are very informed concerning all matters about college football. Two questions for you: 1) What is your honest opinion of the job that Coach Satterfield has done so far, and 2) Is he the coach that UC needs going forward?

1) I think he's doing an OK job. I'd give him a C+ grade at best at this point. I don't think that he has the personality to light things on fire in the recruiting world. He's shown no propensity to recruit local Ohio kids and that's an issue to me. There's nothing wrong with the recruits he's getting but UC is at it's best when we hit the recruiting trial in state. We improved this year record wise and in recruiting compared to the previous year but I'm just not confident that the progress is sustainable with Satterfield.

2) I think CSS is a good bridge coach. We've done much better with up and coming coaches generally over the years. Having a coach with a decent amount of D1 HC experience was probably a good move going into the Big XII but I'm not sure he was the right guy to hire. The coaching pool was pretty thin at the time. I suspect we will move on after his contract expires unless the bottom falls out first. Don't be surprised if we extend his contract for recruiting reasons with a smaller buyout attached before we move on though.

Before FAU canned Tom Herman, he had fired DC Roc Bellantoni. The interim HC, Chad Lunsford, just rehired Bellantoni. Some strange goings-on down there.

The divisions are gone in the B1G. This really hurts Wisconsin that usually had an easy path to Indy for the conference championship. I doubt if he will land at a power 4 school if he is fired (look at Butch).

Missed a bowl for the first time in 22 years. He's fired the OC already. Out of the staff he had here at UC he only carried a couple of guys, Tressel and Letton, to UW.

Cat's out of the bag so to speak but the players he was able to recruit plus the combination of Fickell's recruiting ties to the state of Ohio and the staff he assembled coming into UC were the secret to the CFP team. The good coaches on that staff are all at ND. Where is ND right now? Playing for a shot in the CFP. Fickell got screwed by our run to the Playoffs. Marcus took his dream job and and most of his staff and got a year head start on Luke.

I'm thankful for that whole CFP team. I don't have anything against Fickell but he made a bad career move jumping to UW.

Money is a very powerful draw for most people. Even if they fire him, he will get more $$ than most of us make in a lifetime. I don't feel sorry for him for one second. Hope he enjoys being DC at Maryland or Rutgers next year.

Remember that Sauce was recruited by CTT. Fickell did have enough sense to honor the scholarship.

Rumblings: UCF and UK might move on from their coaches. Press is reporting Malzahn is on the hot seat and UK fans seem to be done with Stoops plus they'll likely lose to Louisville today.

I'm personally rooting for UofL of all things in that game because they're a lot of locals in Lexington that need to come north play at home.
