This game certainly will feature a ton of new faces. The Demons are—as their ugly affair in Minnesota will attest—atrocious. There are three aims for the Cats: Run up the score early and get the regulars out before they get hurt; see if the backups and backups-to-backups can finish NW State off; enjoy the extra week to prepare for the Jayhawks.

Just reading some articles on that Northewstern State game at MInnesota and Minn. had a pick six on the first play from scrimmage and scored 5 first quarter touchdown. Minnesota is not typically a good team. This could get really ugly. I expect backups by the 2nd half if we jump out to a lead like that.Brent Wyrick

In NSU's last 6 games versus FBS opponents, dating back to 2017, the scores were:
2017: TX Tech 45-24
2018: TX A&M 59-7
2021: N TX 44-10
2023: Lousiana 58-13
2024: Tulsa 62-28 (and the Golden Hurricane were a bad football team). Plus, last November, NSU coughed up 62 to Houston Christian, a quality FCS program.
2025: MN 66-0
I'm not a betting man, but anyone who'd touch the current 45.5-point spread—on either side—should seek help.
Game plan: Crush them early and get the backups and the backups' backups in ASAP.
