I think if MT makes him the highest paid hc in he BE he stays...but can UC afford it? BK also wants more $$$ for his assistants - can we ante up?

ps BGSU has put together a good year under Clawson - I liked him at Richmond.

If that's what it takes, pay the man then...and his assistants too.

I don't pretend to have an inside source any better than others will have...only friends of friends that are ND boosters...some of them towards the "big booster" category.

There is a lot of noise coming out of that camp right now that Stoops-to-ND is a done deal.

          Please...let these rumors be true.

In my personal opinion, I think BK is campaigning for the ND as hard as he can get away with. The entire message of that broadcast today was "boy, these folks here in Cincinnati better step up - or else"

And I refuse to believe that's just a coincidence. BK gets it. Talk about "what it would take" to stay at a place like Cincinnati (which so happens to be things that UC has no ability to provide, now or in the near future, like a 55,000 seat stadium and $3mil per year salary) is a big fat telegraph to Notre Dame that he's ready for the taking.

Oh, and drop a couple of folksy subject changers in the next local press conference (Can't get skyline in south bend!), and that's how the dance is done.

                BKs message or ABCs?

Just to be clear, I think almost all of ABCs talk of BK-to-ND was premised on Bob Griese's misinterpretation of BKs 7-10 day comment. They took that and ran with it.

A cynical person would say that someone who understands politics like BK does could very easily cause quite the dustup for a 2 hour broadcast by dropping a comment like that, that he knows will be taken the way Griese took it, that will be interpreted in a very specific way – this university won't step up to keep me.

Oh, then immediately back away from it when the locals notice after comments have their intended effect.

700 is the local homer station. Of course they're going to look for the silver lining from every rumor that he might not leave. From their reporting, you would have thought that Dantonio was going to be here for 10 years.

Wow, and here i thought gossip was a female trait. Some of you act like he called you up and told you he was leaving himself. And if anything is hurting recruiting, its all the SPECULATION from supposed bearcat fans. While i know some are too into their own beliefs to acknowledge it but recruits DO come to this site. What is discussed here DOES, and WILL play a part in SOME kids decision to attend or not. Dont do the work for ND, or any school we recruit against.
                          NOW do you believe ?

Tell you what, the day our head football coach stops saying stuff to ABC like "This should all get resolved in the next 7-10 days" when anyone with a brain knows how that would be interpreted, we'll stop speculating.

Tell you what, anyone with half a brain should understand that even if he said screw ND, it would make no difference to those who thrive on drama( storyline).I for one understood the context, maybe you didnt, but someone on the first page of this very thread broke it down for those that didnt "get " it.

Just reading comments to that CBS story regarding Stoops on their webpage.

One person said Coach Stoops is just finishing a $3.5M house in the Norman area, and that he is unlikely to pick up and leave.

He also has the #1 rated pro style QB (Blake Bell) coming in. I for one would be surprised if Stoops went to ND, as for former Ravens coach BB, I don't have a clue.
