The company involved is CVC Capital Partners. They own quite a few recognizable companies both here and overseas. For those who don't want to scroll through the whole client list, the important sports related ones are the Spanish La Liga soccer league and Ligue 1 and 2 in France. Also, the Six Nations Rugby League.

Seems to me that it might be an instant cash grab. However, in the end, profits must be shared back to the private equity group.Something I failed to address on this announcement by Yormark is that they may “sell” 20% of the conference to a private equity group out of Luxembourg. Not sure on details on what they’re actually selling here.
The PAC-12 tried this in 2018 to create the instant cash flow for member institutions to do facilities upgrades and debt retirement but the proposal didn't go through in the end.
It looks this might be a stab at getting members in influx of cash for player payments.Leave a comment:
