E 2: 8-3. Nathan Taylor threw a ton of pitches. Typical UC game. More than an hour in and just now through two innings.

          T 5: Donovan Ford 2-run HR; 10-4.

M 5: 10-4. Landyn Vidourek 2 stolen base in game, 1 on a pitchout. He's now 39/40 on the season.

B 5: 10-5. Another HR. That's what the Deacs are known for.

          E 5: 10-5. Nathan Taylor 100+ pitches.

          M 6: 10-5. Cats down 1-2-3.

E 6: 10-5. Taylor 118 pitches. He has to be done. Time to find out what the bullpen has in them today.

6 tough, gut check innings for taylor - if i'd been able to go to knoxville, i'd be giving that man a standing O - uc sitting in a good place right now - lets hope that they can hold on.

T 7: Wild play. WF pickoff throw went into foul ground in RF. Charlie Niehaus rounded 2nd & the throw in went into foul ground in LF. He ran into the SS & was awarded 3B, but kept running, with the incoming throw wide. 11-5.

What I have observed this year is that the Bearcats can beat anyone on a given day. They can also lose to anyone on a given day.

The Bearcats can wreak havoc when they get on base. The weak link, though, has been the lack of bullpen depth.

                  M 8: 11-6.

E 8: 11-6. Adam Buczkowski came on with 2 on and 2 out. He induced a P4 to get out of the inning. Last week in the B12 tourney, he took a 108 MPH one-hopper to his face, breaking his nose. He looks like the Lone Ranger with his black mask.

                    M 9: 11-6; Cats went down 1-2-3.

Final: 11-6. Buczkowski mowed 'em down (P4, L7, P5). The final out was an outstanding catch by Kerrington Cross, running away from the infield in foul territory. The Bearcats move on to meet the winner of the Vols-Redhawks game later this evening.

Great game. Long game. Go Miami, and Go Bearcats!! Let's win the K-Town regional.
Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

                      Intimidate! Dominate! Celebrate!

The Redhawks are coming unglued. They just botched a routine DP and got nothing out of it but another Vols run. It's 8-1 in the bottom of the 4th.

The Redskins lost. UC will play Tennessee next and Miami will play Wake.

Almost all games today will be streamed on ESPN+, including UC v TN. At the same time (6:00 ET), ESPN will show women's softball, ESPNN will show the national collegiate cornhole championship (yes, that's correct), ESPNU will show OK vs NC, and ESPN2 will broadcast FSU vs MS State. In addition, the SEC Network will have Duke vs GA, while the ACC Network will have WV vs Clemson.

I misread the original press release as Leslie Nielsen stadium and now I can't stop thinking of the Enrico Palazzo bit as the umpire in Naked Gun.
