5 NFL teams desperate enough to take Brendan Sorsby in the supplemental draft

He will be rewarded for his behavior. What will this say to others. What does this say about CSS and the admins at UC.
Well, he will be taking a pay cut going to the pros from Texas Tech.

By the way, it is Brendan Sorsby, contrary to the title of the thread

"He might consider playing at a lower level, such as JUCO or NAIA, to maintain his skills and prepare for the 2027 NFL Draft. Alternatively, he could enter the Supplemental Draft, a less common route but one that offers a direct path to the NFL."

Regardless, he is most likely done in the NCAA. This was all predictable when they legalized gambling. Different states saw a huge money grab so the legalized it.

There is a whole section in the Cincy enquirer dedicated to sports betting along with news of the Reds, Bengals, UC, X, High schools -- Betting & Gambling Latest News

    does anyone see a solution.

Besides the issue of gambling what about the admins and coaches complicity in all of this? I agree with bearcatjd -- they must be gone. Just the tip of the iceberg I suspect. It does make you wonder when big time highly paid players disappear in big games and at crunch time.

Over 100 years ago they fixed the world series so this is not new.

If Cunningham &/or Satterfield knew about the gambling issue, the one or both of them will be gone. This something you cannot ignore!

It makes you wonder if BS was a stand alone or part of a small aspect of the culture. I have wondered about a few games in FB and in other sports. There is big money in sports betting since betting has gone on-line and about everywhere.

Go to the local AA website, and just look at how many meetings are held in Cincinnati in a week. GA is similar. Addiction is a disease that people can never overcome on their own. People need help and support, and no matter how successful at rehab, the disease of addiction can be managed, but never cured.

In his case, like Sorsby, had he sought help before he was caught it would have been better for him. Alcoholism is a disease, but driving drunk is a crime. The same thing here, I feel sorry for Sorsby, but he deserves whatever consequences arise from this. If UC was indeed notified, that is a real problem.

It sounds as if the rules were somewhat in flux as late as last fall. Maybe it wasn't exactly clear what constituted a violation.
