UC previously offered James in high school (possibly the prior UC staff). He played at Oak Ridge HS, which is coached by Cincinnati native Steven Reece who was the AAU coach of Jizzle James (and dad of UC 2025 recruit Jalen Reece).

Are we in contact with either? I'd take the first one to commit if we have offers, maybe find a "2nd slot" if two want to commit. Would an elite Center want to compete with an established starter (Aziz).
We're getting down to the end of this thing. Portal window closes May 1.Last edited by Lobot; 04-23-2024, 05:02 PM.Brent Wyrick

Having two high level starter type players at the same position is just about impossible in the transfer portal age. Especially at center where there are always lots of teams looking for high level starters.Brent Wyrick

The 6'1 guard from California transferred in from UC Irvine this year (so he was not teammates with Simas). Averaged 13.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists. Was Butler's 3rd-leading scorer.
