I don’t have any academic data on any of the basketball players, but Josh Reed participated in graduation ceremonies last year when my son graduated. I believe Sincere Harris graduated this year.

Josh Reed looks like he got an MBA while he was at Penn State, so my guess is that he was taking the student part seriously as well.

For real. Remember the old days when they would list their majors during the lineup introductions? Maybe it's me but I don't remember the last time I heard their major.

Also, when is the last time that you heard of a player being academically ineligible? That used to happen in the old days. I guess with the internet and remote classes it is probably easier for them to keep up while away from campus but you really never hear about academics other than the occasional GPA if the player did well.

Ever since the NIL was implemented I'd venture to guess that the majority of these players, especially those in the upper echelon, the ones who are having millions of dollars thrown at them, are not even taking classes. I might be wrong but I don't think I am.

I would like 2 and 3 year contract offers, though I'd offer up the option to buyout after freshman year. If coaches can leave at the call of dollar signs, then a player should be able to do the same.

Yeah, but coaches have already graduated, they already have their degrees. I guess we forget these guys are supposed to be students.

Ryan Day of tOSU who has some clout is going for a 2 year commitment on all recruits and transfers. So many come their frosh year and if they are not the centerpiece, they go elsewhere. Will this get done? It may be difficult, but you know most coaches are in agreement.

This is why I believe UC was smart to sign Sorsby to a deal that included the buyout. We don't know the exact terms only that, according to UC, Sorsby left before the terms permitted him to leave. If more schools adopted this model, it might generate some stability.

hopefully, uc wins the lawsuit, or at least gets a decent settlement out of sorsby. right now, ncaa athletes = the gang on con air.

Well even for entry level it was higher this year and last - two of them were 5 million total maybe more.I think we will see it next year when CJC has been here a year. Many of the big ones committed early and many deep pockets waited until the push was on from former players and other deep pockets. Many returned with Huggs.

well what we would have had if WM was still here. Thiam was gone because his coach couldn't think to get a 7-2 guy the ball while allowing a low % guard to dribble away. Shon A and WM had their differences. Sure Tillery and perhaps Buck as well as the frosh, but basically a whole new rebuild. At least we can hope to have a better x&o coach on the court. Perhaps a team playing better and increased NIL $ can out weigh WM's ability to recruit. Then again, we have not seen CJC's ability with a year in the BIG 12 and not just a week in the off-season. All in all we have to wait and see and if it doesn't pan out, then the damn will break. Right now most of the community, former players and deep pockets are back. We would not have seen that if WM was back. Its a start.
