This is interesting -- it has long been understood that Bobby Hurley is unlikely to return to Arizona State next season. Last year, they announced a raise and contract extension through 2025-26 but they never signed an enforceable contract (but he has still received the salary increase). As such, Hurley could leave on his own after the season and not owe a buy out. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...n/72954558007/

On the other hand, he just went from an 8-10 AAC record last year to a respectable 7-11 Big 12 record with some big wins (Kansas, at Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, at TCU).

I am not sure they are trending in the right direction, per se, but is there someone out there who could take them to the next level?
Their fans were rooting for losses toward the end of the year so they could justify a change. My gut tells me the admin gives him another year based on those big wins you mentioned.

Deep dive from Louisville writer Eric Crawford on the Kenny Payne era at U of L.

The depths to which Louisville’s program would sink in Payne’s two seasons would have been difficult to imagine on the day in March 2022 when he took over as coach.

Not a coaching move but: Trev Alberts is likely moving from Nebraska to Texas A&M which opens the AD spot in Lincoln.

John Cunningham is from Lincoln, Nebraska and received his JD from Nebraska. (H/T Doug Smith)

Louisville makes it official -- Kenny Payne is out after two seasons, which included a 19-point Maui loss to UC last season.

Payne's presser post game was trash. He accepted no responsibility for his record and blamed everyone but himself. Surprised they let him on the team plane and didn't fire him on the spot for cause.

Contract extension at Ole Miss for Chris Beard -- he seemed like a coach who could try to jump for an open job, though the circumstances surrounding his dismissal from Texas would have made some ADs/boosters uncomfortable.
