This is interesting -- it has long been understood that Bobby Hurley is unlikely to return to Arizona State next season. Last year, they announced a raise and contract extension through 2025-26 but they never signed an enforceable contract (but he has still received the salary increase). What do you with Johnny Dawkins at UCF?

On the one hand, UCF last made the NCAA Tournament in 2019 (only appearance in eight seasons) and never finished above 6th place in the AAC in the four seasons since 2019. On the other hand, he just went from an 8-10 AAC record last year to a respectable 7-11 Big 12 record with some big wins (Kansas, at Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, at TCU).

I am not sure they are trending in the right direction, per se, but is there someone out there who could take them to the next level?

Their fans were rooting for losses toward the end of the year so they could justify a change. My gut tells me the admin gives him another year based on those big wins you mentioned.

Louisville makes it official -- Kenny Payne is out after two seasons, which included a 19-point Maui loss to UC last season.

Louisville plays NC State late this afternoon - Kenny Payne's tenure is nearing an end and it could be a matter of hours before the U of L comes open.

Payne's presser post game was trash. He accepted no responsibility for his record and blamed everyone but himself. Surprised they let him on the team plane and didn't fire him on the spot for cause.

Contract extension at Ole Miss for Chris Beard -- he seemed like a coach who could try to jump for an open job, though the circumstances surrounding his dismissal from Texas would have made some ADs/boosters uncomfortable.

It had to be so hard on the WVU players. A great transfer class and national championship goals. Then Huggs was Huggs. Players left and they never seemed to be able to get over it. I believe an all new staff might help them.
