Indiana is bringing back Mike Woodson, much to the displeasure of many IU fans. Could be a rough year in 24-25 if things don’t go well.

Side note: Norlander interviewed Trilly today so unless he interviewed in a ghilie suit , it's a good bet Norlander knows who he is.

Matt Norlander of CBS looks at jobs that could open https://www.cbssports.com/college-ba...at-could-open/

Here are the Big 12 snippets:

Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are 12-17 in Mike Boynton's seventh season. He's been to one NCAA Tournament and is owed more than $8 million if fired. OSU is also, somewhat surprisingly, in the lower tier of NIL support in the Big 12. If a change is coming, OSU needs to have north of $13 million to account for a firing, a hiring and an injection of NIL cash to avoid being in the cellar of a 16-team Big 12. My guess: Circumstances permit Boynton one more season.

UCF. Of all the high-major jobs (and UCF only just moved into that category this year) that feel vulnerable to an opening, this is the one the most people are in the dark on. Johnny Dawkins has been there since 2016 and with one NCAA tourney, but Dawkins is much respected and is pacing to average nearly 19 wins over eight seasons at what's now the least desirable job in the Big 12. A change seems 50/50.

West Virginia. The Mountaineers have gone 9-20 under interim coach Josh Eilert. WVU is a good job but probably falls outside of the top eight best gigs in the restructured/16-team Big 12. A fascinating search will soon be underway. Consider its two most recent full-time coaches: Bob Huggins and John Beilein. Some names I'd check in on include James Madison's Mark Byington, Colrado State's Niko Medved, UNC Wilmington's Takayo Siddle, Appalachian State's Dustin Kerns and Indiana State's Josh Schertz.

Dusty May (FAU) seems to be trending for Ohio State at the moment.

Should be interesting if that is legitimate. If FAU doesn't fare well in the tourney, you question if last year was just an isolated special run. If FAU does well, then clearly seems to be a good coach but then OSU goes longer without a coach there to recruit (granted lots of FAU's top guys have eligibility and could come with -- but several current Buckeyes will likely put their name in the portal and not want to wait around too long)...

Washington likely to move on from Mike Hopkins, says Jeff Goodman (who adds Utah State coach Danny Sprinkle is the expected front runner),

From the legend "Trilly Donovan" -- March Coaching Carousel Breakdown https://burnerball.com/march-coachin...sel-breakdown/

List jobs that are open, jobs that are effectively open, coaches on "retirement watch," and includes other names of coaches on the hot seat.

    Buckle up, folks.

Interesting comment from Steve Helwagen (Bucknuts) when asked " My personal hope is for a proven coach that has recruited nationally and is effective through the portal but is that realistic " His answer was " Of course it is. This is Ohio State and they have more money than any other school and it sounds like the collectives are rounding into shape to pay players as well."

It looks as though Arizona has set the 5-6 million bar. I believe salaries will be soaring with the new TV contracts and big power conferences.

What does this mean for UC? The wallets will have to be opened and opened wide.

Someone needs to get hired soon at OSU that is not W. Miller so we can just rest again. I know some are not sold on Miller (I am sold on him), but we do not need yet another coach search-rebuild stretch again.
I’m sold on Wes too, and lots of other people are too. UC is big time now, time to act like it and keep our coach.
