Totally agree. He's got the physical talent but too much inconsistency in his game at this point. At 6'6" you better make sure you have no holes in your game or you will lanquish in the development league or find yourself overseas. Just ask Jacob Evans. It makes no sense to go early unless you are sure to go high in the draft especially with having the NIL option that others before him didn't have.Comment

Yes, this would look great for CWM and the program. That being having a third year player ready for and playing in the NBA. The problem is what if DS isn't ready for the NBA. How does this reflect on the program's ability to prepare for the NBA. Sure to some it would be DS got some money, but how much does one get if they don't make it. Here is hoping that he takes the major leap as that will bring wins and prestige to the program. I agree with GMann. Have him talk to Evans. While he is at it ,J. Cumberland, Trey Lee and others too. They would tell him just how tough the NBA is to make a team.Comment

Skillings will also be 22 come this time next year so the decision to go pro may largely have to do with maximizing the financial return during his athletic prime.Comment

If Skillings plays himself into an NBA draft pick, no one will be mad at him for leaving early. That's the dual edge sword of recruiting better talent and highly rated players.Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

As others have offered, it would do the program good to have players leave early AND be drafted. I do hope that he has a great 2024-25 season.Comment

Guess this thread is as good a place as any to put it - we made it at #25 in ESPN's "Way too early Top 25"

We should probably start a new thread called something like 24-25 Polling. There is another way too early posted in another thread. Some comparisons and they are not close.Comment

Yeah, did you see the projected starting lineup? ESPN does not have a clue. It projected that UC would start four guards and Simas. Get real.Guess this thread is as good a place as any to put it - we made it at #25 in ESPN's "Way too early Top 25"

Let us see what the portal brings before we speculate. Sure I like the core, but that core needs so fine tuning - Like a floor leader

4 of those players will be out of eligibility after next season (Day Day, Simas, Aziz, and CJ). 2 more of those players could forego their remaining eligibility if they play their way into the 2025 draft (Jizzle and Skillings).Current 2024-25 roster outlook (post Sage Tolentino portal news)

It'll be interesting to see if the staff chooses to fill the remaining scholarships with the best player available regardless of eligibility or specifically pinpoints players that could grow with the program beyond next season.Comment
