I'm the same way Leo. Although I will admit that I take a certain amount of pleasure when I get news of about four or five teams tournament bubble bursting and will remain anonymous, but I don't make a point of watching any of their games when in the tournaments.

Last team in is always splitting hairs, and results in the tournament don't say much at all about who deserved qualification. Virginia had a good resume. The Big East and Big 12 went 0-5 tonight in the NIT while the ACC was 2-0. What does that mean? Nothing.

Colorado State had a nice win last night but no one is talking about it because everyone is too busy obsessing about Virginia (at least that is what I have seen on Twitter). UVA does not have an exciting brand, they weren't great this year, they had a very flawed resume, etc. ... but none of the teams that barely missed the NCAA had great resumes either. If they were better, they would have been in.

Right, they weren't a great team. Selection isn't about picking the best teams. If it was, they would just use Kenpom rankings. 6 seed South Carolina would have missed the tournament and Cincinnati would be in. Selection is about putting together the best resume of wins and losses. It matters who actually wins close games.Originally posted by longtimefan View PostBut Virginia had a lot of double digit losses.
