As I have gotten older, I am no longer a college BB fan. I only watch the Bearcats and enjoy them even when they are not on the court. Thus the NIT is what I will watch this year and only the games which the Cats will play.

I'm the same way Leo. Although I will admit that I take a certain amount of pleasure when I get news of about four or five teams tournament bubble bursting and will remain anonymous, but I don't make a point of watching any of their games when in the tournaments.

It's ABK for me. Anybody but Kentucky.

In recent years, there has been so many "wildcards" advancing deep in the tournament. Since UC hasn't been playing in the NCAAs, I have been rooting for those teams. Gotta love the underdogs.

Virginia blown out by Colorado State, 67-42. According to the Net ranking, Virginia didn’t belong. Another fail/bias by the committee?

Last team in is always splitting hairs, and results in the tournament don't say much at all about who deserved qualification. Virginia had a good resume. The Big East and Big 12 went 0-5 tonight in the NIT while the ACC was 2-0. What does that mean? Nothing.

But Virginia had a lot of double digit losses.

Colorado State had a nice win last night but no one is talking about it because everyone is too busy obsessing about Virginia (at least that is what I have seen on Twitter). UVA does not have an exciting brand, they weren't great this year, they had a very flawed resume, etc. ... but none of the teams that barely missed the NCAA had great resumes either. If they were better, they would have been in.

Kansas' Kevin McCullar is out for the entire NCAA tournament. Adjust your brackets accordingly.

Right, they weren't a great team. Selection isn't about picking the best teams. If it was, they would just use Kenpom rankings. 6 seed South Carolina would have missed the tournament and Cincinnati would be in. Selection is about putting together the best resume of wins and losses. It matters who actually wins close games.

Blow out losses should count too. Virginia had too many of those to have been in the field.
