I'm sure he's a fine young man and wish him the best! But this team needs hardnosed Basketball Players who can compete in the Big 12.

I truly hope Wes figures that out this year via the Portal.

I think some of us have not figured out UC and the portal. First, we cannot compete with the so-called bluebloods. Second, we cannot compete with the many other schools that have deeper pockets. It is going to be difficult to land some of the players that you want.

I want to point out that those names I put out are based on a source. Whether or not any of them come to fruition is probably up to the staff and players but I do trust the source of the information.

Can Aziz play? I thought this was his last year of eligibility. Also, is Simas eligible to play? He walked on Senior Night.

Aziz & Simas still can play in the CBC, if they want to. It's still the 2024-25 season & they remain on the roster. Had UC made the Dance, they would've played, along with dozens of others in the same situation nationally. There is NIL cash in the CBC.

Probably because he's not good. Negative 4.1 BPM in conference this year. 18% from three. Undersized with poor defense.

I suppose guys in the portal could still play in the Crown if they haven’t signed elsewhere. But if they declare, I don’t want them in a Bearcat uniform again. But if the seniors play they would still have enough to make 7, and since there’s NIL money, why would they not want to play?

Personally, prefer they not play in the Crown.

So we can't compete with the likes of WVU? Last time I looked, WVU IS not considered by any stretch a blueblood lol! UC would have had a fair shot of landing any of those WVU Transfers from last year!

I'm not surprised there isn't anyone complaining or asking Page to stay. Imagine if he had been able to spell Aziz and give the team 8 ppg. While this team had trouble shooting beyond the arc, they had a good enough defense, inside points from Page could've meant a few more wins.

I'm surprised there isn't much outrage at Betsey leaving. This young man can shoot and his defense was improving. He was also adding a bit of an inside presence. I had hoped he would blossom next year after another year in the weight room. HE has tremendous potential and skill.

We have to make every effort to keep Tyler Betsey, his ceiling is the highest of anybody left on the team.

I was thinking Page and Posibbly Skillings/Griffith. If Betsy leaves along with a few surprises, this disaster if you as me!

BearKatz - This seems to be the first mention of Betsey entering the portal. What's your source for this? Everyone seems to be panicking about him entering the portal but I have not seen that anywhere else. Can you clarify whether you have heard this form a source outside this forum?
