I am thinking that things remain the same as the previous years. The only players that will transfer are the ones Wes and co do not think fit what he is trying to build.

These are kids so they all may transfer… it is my opinion that only page would be a definite…. Based on the effort this year and trust diminished. I am keeping an eye on things and still no UC players. No Instagram stories or posts of leaving… I do think some here are underestimating the bond of the players to Wes and each other.

Like most on here I’m sure you do not miss a bounce of the basketball during the season. I watch each press conference and I do not see or had not seen any turmoil… the team is tight and that may be a problem…. If the staff chooses to move on from a player… others may follow… similar to landers deciding not to come back after Davenport was told was in his best interest to transfer.
There is only ONE first time!!!

Here are a few in the Portal I would lure to UC If I was the HC:
        Dedan Thomas

        0.9800
        T
        (HS)
        PG

        Quimari Peterson

        0.9400
        T
        PG

Either of these would be decent replacements for Thomas and If James Transfer....

        Bryce Hopkins

        0.9700
        T
        PF
        Malik Reneau

        0.9500
        T
        PF
        Elyjah Freeman

        0.9400
        T
        SF

Possible replacements for Page and possibly Skillings.

        Owen Freeman

        0.9600
        T
        (HS)
        C
        Blake Buchanan

        0.9400
        T
        C
        Lawson Lovering

        0.9500
        HS
        C
        7-1 / 235

        Possible replacements for Aziz.

The longer Wes waits, the higher caliber players will be taken.

Jizzle is a good player, but not program devastatingly great. Every player on the roster can be replaced.
Red and Black are more of an Attitude than merely a color combination.

I don't have an issue with Jizzle transferring.

I think you have to choose between Jizzle and Day Day, can't keep both as you don't want either starting at SG next year and there are only so many PG minutes to go around. Jizzle's big advantage is that he has two years remaining and more potential, but Day Day I'd argue is a better player, better 3-point shooter (floor spacer) in a non-primary scoring role and is likely significantly cheaper. Need to hoard money to throw at 2/3 elite guys who can carry us on offense next year.

It’s no coincidence that they played their best ball in league games when Jizzle had his best games. I think he’ll continue to improve and become more consistent, as upper class men frequently do. I see nothing but upside with the young man, who will only be a junior next year. He is a vital piece of this program, and his loss devastating.

If Jizzle stays it must be as the off guard. Create plays, p& R's for him to take the mid range shots and drives to the rim. Let Tillery be the to floor general. As he is true PG he's been coached to facilitate and hope he's been well coached and not just dribble around to find his own shot.

Yep, we don't have as much money as the top flight programs so we need to play Moneyball. We have to consider the price of production. Dollars per BPM. Day Day is probably a better value.

Chad Brendel commented that, while Jizzle could enter the portal, he has seen no indication to-date that the family are moving in that direction. There is no agent involved. The family handle everything.

                        Likely gone: Betsey, Page, Skillings

                        50-50: Griffith, Jizzle, Mitchell, Reed

More likely to stay (but no guarantees): Thomas, McKinley, Hickman (with waiver)

                        No clue: Dzellat
I don't see why Page would transfer out. First, he was heavily recruited by Wes out of High School. After 1 season he transfers to UC and now with Bandaogo graduating he is inline to be the starting big man. I think he is a Wes Miller guy and what higher level program is going to entice him away?

I think Jizzle is a possible transfer for this reason: money. I can see a high profile big NIL budget liking him (and his dad) becoming a part of their program because of name recognition.

Betsey is a tough call. He was a high profile guy and all the big schools were in on him. With Lukosius gone, Cincinnati has a good change to run with an actual 6 (Page) and 4(Betsey) and with McKinley back they have size to play Big 12 teams and Mitchell gets to be a real 3.

The big question here is can Wes Miller coach a complex offense. Iowa St. Kansas St. BYU all were above UC because they of the offenses they ran. Houston is getting by on running and guard play but they simply have 3 or 4 NBA guys on that team.

Dead on! For a TEAM that lacked scoring options, it's a huge blow to the Program! That's why I would have to disagree with Zyk & Red_n_Black on this one.

James is the ONLY player in the team with a consistent jump shot. His upside is huge and could possibly be an All American by his senior year!

Wes can not afford to lose Jizzle.

If Page were a Wes Miller guy, he would've had some playing time in the last big 12 tourney game, instead he was on the bench and Wes was clear that Page is not working hard enough to earn 30 seconds of game action.

I don't know the answer to that. Would any of us in the forum know the exact cost?

What would cost UC to lose him? Fan base would be very unhappy and it definitely won't help ticket sales.
