    2025-26 Schedule

UC will play Louisville downtown this year in another "neutral" game, then will travel to Freedom Hall in Louisville the following year for a "neutral" game. https://collegehoopstoday.net/rothst...l-site-series/

Man, this is BS. Couldn't get this at UC's home court? Can't get a new AD fast enough.

This is being done in the same manner as the UD series. The schools are not permitted to give NIL funds to players in home games. These are the only two neutral sites in each city that make sense.

You know, the more I learn & see the impact of NIL, the less interest I have in “college” athletics. Two dumpster arenas for the fans to endure because the new over the top dollar worshipping regs won’t allow actual home + home arrangements because players need even more money.

With a game at Xavier and a game versus Louisville downtown, UC really needs to beef up the non-conference for the season ticket holders.

It used to be that you could load up on cupcakes when you were desperate for the NCAA Tournament, but no one is fooled anymore with teams who do nothing in the non-con and stack W's against 300+ opponents (obviously if you beat U of L and XU that is a different story). I think UC could also benefit in Big 12 play from being tested early. I'd rather win 18-19 games with a good strength of schedule than 21-22 games whooping up on Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Alabama A&M.

This is on the back of UofL getting back to it's regional roots and playing Memphis as well, which was announced yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if Pat Kelsey scheduled XU next

Are you serious? So the players earn NIL for away games and neutral site games only? What's your source for that information?

It's not that players won't receive their normal NIL, but that they may not receive a cut of the ticket proceeds. If a third party runs an event, that entity may pay the players. That only would occur at a neutral site, since home teams are operating the on-campus games.

That may change in the future but, for now, that's the situation.

Besides the crappy venues, these are still in a way a home and away series. The difference is that on the schedule, it will show up as either a win or a loss at a "neutral" court on the record. That may help a win and marginalize a loss. I am just throwing stuff at the frig right now but it makes sense to me.

Jon Rothstein says Crosstown Shootout will be Friday, December 5 at Cintas ... can't remember a Friday night Shootout before. I think I like it.

stand corrected. He was drunk perhaps. I thought about a Friday Night game at X and the crowd will be rowdy.

It seems like collegiate sports are becoming an alternate professional league whose main appeal is to gamblers.

On the B12 stream via TuneIn, the conference announced that the 2025-26 scheduling matchup matrix will be released this Thursday. I don't know the time. This is about two weeks earlier than last season. In the prior two seasons, the B12 announced the game dates in late September.
