You know, the more I learn & see the impact of NIL, the less interest I have in “college” athletics. Two dumpster arenas for the fans to endure because the new over the top dollar worshipping regs won’t allow actual home + home arrangements because players need even more money.

With a game at Xavier and a game versus Louisville downtown, UC really needs to beef up the non-conference for the season ticket holders.
It used to be that you could load up on cupcakes when you were desperate for the NCAA Tournament, but no one is fooled anymore with teams who do nothing in the non-con and stack W's against 300+ opponents (obviously if you beat U of L and XU that is a different story). I think UC could also benefit in Big 12 play from being tested early. I'd rather win 18-19 games with a good strength of schedule than 21-22 games whooping up on Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Alabama A&M.

That may change in the future but, for now, that's the situation.

Besides the crappy venues, these are still in a way a home and away series. The difference is that on the schedule, it will show up as either a win or a loss at a "neutral" court on the record. That may help a win and marginalize a loss. I am just throwing stuff at the frig right now but it makes sense to me.
