UC plays both Dayton and Louisville before the Shootout -- also UC plays Tarleton State four days before the X game. Seems like for years UC has played absolutely nobody before the Shootout and are idle for a week before they face X, whereas X usually comes in with some early tests and a game a few days before.

Too bad that's not an MTE.

+ home contest versus Mount St. Mary's on Sunday, November 16

Confirmed via MSM's 2025-26 schedule on their website. KenPom ranked them #243 in 2024-25 (23-13 record). They won the MAAC tourney and received a #16 seed in the NCAA Tourney. This will be a Q4 buy game, but the Mountaineers undoubtedly will be better than AR-Pine Bluff and Grambling State from last season.

A certain Mr Lakhin has circled this one on his calendar (he said so) which is interesting since he's out of eligibility.

UC versus Clemson, December 21 in Greenville, SC -- I guess this is another "neutral" game (and then UC will likely play them in a "neutral" game downtown next year)

Also, UC announced tickets go on sale to the public next Thursday, 8/28 for the 11/21 Louisville game

Yes. Both teams will have a better opportunity for these games to be Q1-level (Top 50 opponent on neutral floor).

The Catamounts went 8-22 a year ago after going 22-10 the year before.

That big turn around in the negative seems to indicate that they either had a coaching change or a lot of players left the team in the portal.

Looks like UC will host Western Carolina to open the season on Monday, November 3 (H/T The Bearcat Bunch on Twitter/X).

UC is 4-0 all-time versus WCU, most recently doubling them up 102-51 on November 13, 2017. Jarron Cumberland scored 20, while Cane Broome, Keith Williams and Kyle Washington scored in double figures.

...which goes to show the greater role that "history" played in deciding the opponents.

Yeah. You are probably right about that.

In terms of geography, West Virginia, Kansas, Kansas State, and Iowa State make more sense for the home and home opponents. Shortest travel distances.

Houston, WVU, and UCF would make the most sense as double plays based on history/geography.
